How come we don’t have a name generator here on the EU servers? I’ve seen they do have that on the US servers.
When will we get that feature?

I always thought that was a PTR feature.
So it’s not on their live servers? Been seeing on some streams where they have a name generator button.
Language barrier I assume. I just use the online name generator anyway
Because it can occasionally generate words that are offensive to foreign language European countries apparently. So rather than fix it they just ripped it out.

If they are worried about people getting offended, they should just fix the name generator and implement it again. I agree with you on that…

It’s hardly a solution, though. The random name thing does it by accident, players do it quite deliberately, I assure you.
Yes, combined with the amount of players who deliberately try to cause that offense - it’s like being on the primary school playground again.

It’s not even about people getting offended, it’s more that the names are reportable and the GM who looks at the report cannot really tell whether you’ve chosen to name yourself that or if the generator created the name. People could end up getting suspended by using the built-in generator, and fixing it so that no swear word in any European language is generated is a bit unrealistic.
They should just expand upon the name feature.
Give us the ability to create longer names than now, expand it so we can have both a first and last name.
Coming up with a reasonable name that is available is just getting harder by the day.

I actually like the Last name idea. Names these days are being taken very quickly. The game has been around since the 2000s too.
I just named this Velf “Vanalia” cause I thought it sounded very elvish. I don’t know if it’s an actual word or anything, but at least it’s not taken on my server.

It is due to the language barrier.
Thrall’s son’s name is Durak, but in Russian it means Stupid.
This is the only one example, I am pretty sure there are many more.

Then I’m curious, did they change Thrall’s sons name to something else in Russia? If not, it’s not a valid excuse from their part (Blizzard’s)
There’s like 30 names there for each race, do you seriously think any of them are still available?
Last time I wanted to name a new character (night elf), I opened a list of welsh names and tried like 70 of them in alphabetical order till I arrived at the first free name. And it’s not a great one.
I think they did for Russians and for Russian speakers
I’m sure there used to be one.
