Dear Blizzard, let us warlocks rename our demons, just like hunters and their pets. I know we can pay to get “a new demon” with yet another name that no-one can pronounce. If a renaming option wont work then atleast give us like 5-10 choices when we pay for a new demon, that way we can still pick a semi nice name for our minions.
our pets aren’t some random beasts caught in the wild, they’re mostly sentient beings we summon from the nether and control, that’s why we can’t rename them, they already have a name.
If you really care about renaming the demons, just get the total rp 3 addon. It allows you to create a profile for the demon, give it whatever name you want, write down its physical description, backstory and so on. Only the other users of that addon will be able to see it, but I assure you, those who don’t have it likely couldn’t care less about the name of your demonic pet.
To be fair, we CAN rename them at the NPC so the fact they already have a name is not really the factor, but I do agree with the sentiment. Having Voidwalkers running around called “Bob” would not really work…
Haha that was noobish from me but i remember time when i rerolled warlock character until i had cool name for voidwalker i know they aren’t random, that’s why their name persists, but renaming would be qol change for good
Ooo you may be right, it’s been a while since I did it. I remember I had an imp with a name I really didn’t like and changed it a few times… but that was many years ago now.
Also, considering Warlock mounts are also pulled from the demonic realms, why does it not have a name? Answers on a postcard…
Just started playing Demo today (most fun I’ve had in a while tbh), and I was disappointed upon clicking my demons portrait to find that I could not name him Garry. Yes I would like to be able to name my minion!
It’d be nice to at least let Warlocks freely pick an affix+suffix combination, instead of having to roll the dice with renaming every time. The fact that we can rename already does away with the “distinct identity” that Demons supposedly have; might as well remove the RNG from it at least.
Still hunting for the name “Flameflame” for my lock’s Infernal, yet no luck so far.
If it was for me, since we’re already talking about slavery, not only I would allow this, but I would also force my void lord to go around in a pink dress. Sounds like the ultimate humiliation!
I have to say renaming them ourselves will not work for me, however, being able to choose from the list of syllables Blizzard use randomly would be good, though some combinations would be not allowed.
People would call them silly names if it was like a hunter pet.
I don’t even know what my Felhunter is called.

Imp - Chobis
Voidwalker - Maktaz
Succubus - Mirynn
Felhunter - Khiinom
Felguard - Blagzekeel
i know they aren’t random, that’s why their name persists, but renaming would be qol change for good
