The NamePlate Distance slider is probably a leftover from the wrath/classic codebase merge. It is currently ingame on the PTR (min 20 yards, max 41 yards) but does not work.
Should be fixed or removed before launch.

The NamePlate Distance slider dosent work !
Its not supposed to work, classic is always hardlocked to 20 yards and the option to choose between 20 and 41 yards was implemented in tbc.
