NamePlates and Class Colors

I can’t find the option to turn off class colors in enemy or friendly nameplates. Am I missing something or has this option been removed?

I know there are addons, but I’d simply like to know if the option to turn off classcolors in nameplates is an option.

In BGs (few expansions before) I used to see red plates for enemy and blue for friendlies. Now its all class colors, and the name is red or blue. That’s impossible to notice in a fight of 10-20ppl.

PS Talking about nameplates, not raid or party frames.

As of 7.2.5 WoW removed the “show class colours” tick box for some reason. It is now the default.

You’ll want to make use of an addon to achieve this.

I’d recommend Tidy Plates but there’s other options like KuiNameplates and NeatPlates.

Oh bummer. Thanks for the clarification. I will try Tidy Plates, by the name it sounds minimalistic, which is my reason for using Blizz’s own nameplates.

I don’t understand what reason would Blizz have to remove that option tho? Weird. Maybe it’s and engineering thing, who knows.
