Nameplates distance?

Hello everyone. For my convenience and personal preference im using Addon called Plater which i love and spend time to setup. It gives me much improved in combat information and visibility of what is going on,but i have a problem and i doubt its from the addon cause i tried few others just to rule out if its addon problem and it seems it is not. No matter what nameplates addon i choose in pvp ppl have 30-40 some classes even more range but my nameplates are switching off as soon as the target gain more than what it seems a 20yards range. Is this just me and something im missing here or what is going on? Nameplates should work as long as we are in combat range of 40-50 yards ,but instead i have to get a lot closer for them to show. Now yes im a warrior but i also play warlock and this annoys me. Please if someone have a fix , help me bro.

SoD has 21y nameplates, you can’t increase it.

LOL ,but that does not make sense …u can enter combat and put debuffs on targets from 40 yards why are they limiting nameplates to half the distance :S anyway thank you for clarification :frowning:

Its always been 21y in vanilla. I think they increased it to 40y at some point in classic, don’t remember when. But yeah it is a bit annoying. Perhaps they’ll increase it to 40 again at some point.

Makes perfect sense, that’s what Blizzard have set it to. Like it was in 2004/5.

As people above said - it’s a Classic Vanilla hard cap of 20 yd on nameplates.

In my opinion, they could have increased it to 41 yd. TBC has it and somehow world did not end.

Thank you…u must be minority around here , usually ppl respond like the lock above … cutting words out and answer to partial sentence. Ofc what i mean is - it does not make sense to have range of 40 yards but nameplates of 20 … but somehow Dottie the true opposition of ABSOLUTELY EVERY SINGLE POST on forums have to say it makes sense because blizzard set it that way.

Well, you have Vanilla purists here that treat any deviation from the scriptures as a blasphemy.

In my opinion, there are a lot of vanilla inconveniences that should be preserved for the sake of the experience, but 20 yard nameplates - isn’t one of those.

I’m only against those things that don’t make sense. I know it’s almost Classic+ but everything should be like back in 2004/5

Exactly, not a Classic Vanilla thing.

Yes yes, we heard it - not a Holy Classic Vanilla…

Know what else is not Classic Vanilla? Metamorphosis.

Which is why I said ALMOST Classic+.

I think u should stop now , not cuz im the one that can boss you around ,but u make urself look bad and annoying and its not cause u express your opinion it is because you are in SEASON OF DISCOVERY forum where they add RETAIL ABILITIES and RUNES and the game is absolutely far away from classic ERA so your comments like " it should stay like it was 2005" are absolutely out of place and just shows how ignorant and negative person you really are. You are like those ppl that even if they agree with something they somehow need to feel like opposition and be against everything and anything on any subject. Let me burst your bubble, THIS IS NOT GOING to be even close to what it was and will get even crazier next phases…so excuse me ,but coming to comment on a post where someone is surprised that nameplates visibility are half the range of combat range with " blizzard made it that way so it is the right thing # no changes" u look like a clown. Period!

You really didn’t read did you? I said some of the stuff should stay the same, oh and go learn about punctuation too.

What a reason for “some stuff should stay the same” ?
