Nathanos Style Undead

Humans with Gandalf beards would be sick too. Even Vykrul beards.

I dont play undead but in my opinion if you basically make Nathanos style undead your basically just reducing what the undead truely are. Nathanos always looked more like a sickly human rather than a forsaken human.

They could easily give more QOL stuff to Undead with postures and more skin/facial features but to basically make a grey human option for Horde would reduce the faction split.

The reason the Forsaken are with the horde is because they aren’t recognized by their own families and or cant be accepted by them due to their horrific appearance and due to the fact that most lose their sanity in some sense.

To make them Human-like would just stomp all over the previous established stories as to why Undead/Forsaken are with the horde.

Thats my two cents on this discussion.

Yes, please give Kul Tiran males the option to be the skinny hunched over dudes. I love the inclusion of big buff boys as much as anyone but you have to admit making your Kul Tiran male look like an arcane user instead of someone who hits the gym AND the pub five times a week is not an easy task.

Well, if alliance would get thin Kul Tirans then that sounds good.

However, now we get to the next issue: Both the Nathanos model as well as the thin Kul Tiran model are male only. That doesn’t seem balanced either.

Technically they could just use the human rig and make them slimmer, you know cause they are rotting. They don’t necessarily have to be humans with a paintjob just as the thin human models which use the forsaken rig aren’t forsaken with a paintjob.

Are you serious? They’ll add both genders like they have for every other playable race in this game since ever.

Youi could give them a slighty different posture so its not incidental to humans. They would have non human skin colours like green pustules, decay marks, holes where you can see through to their bones, ears and hair falling off, sew marks and bolts, odd limbs or prosthetics like the mecha gnomes.

If its done right then there would need to have that reduction of the faction split.

Lets be fair, if see all the high elf threads and all the customisation and class requests they want it honest seem too unfair that we ask for teh other races to get some love.

Nightborne need a total rework lol The male stance puts me off playing the male.

Yeah I cant get behind those idea’s but my opposition is to basically making Grey/Green humans. Sounds a little gate keepy but I think if they took your idea’s it could be done well. I just think making Nathanos style undead is silly in my mind.

High elves should have been implemented years ago and yeah Nightborne are extremely underwhelming which is part of the reason I never made one.

Lets be fair they messed up it just by adding allied races then customisations.

Also Blizz will never put any real effort into customisations. We may get the odd eye colour, hair style, tattoo and beard options in the future but nothing dramatic.

They are missing a trick as well. Skins, customisations and transmog are what drives people to play certain popular games. I know its different genres but League of legends, fortnite, cod etc wouldnt be as intersting without the cool ways you can make your character look.

What we got this expansion is stuff that shouldve been in the game ten years ago. Some races hardly got touched.

They wouldnt even need to put much effort into design they could work with the community who design some great stuff for free that could be implemented but they hate talking to their community going by how much they have interacted with the monk one.

It took them until I think end of BC or start of Wrath to even let you change hairstyle/colour so the fact that its taking them this long to implement ANY sort of QOL for character customization really doesnt shock me.

Took them until just before BFA to add proper Asian/Black skin colours and more fantasy hair styles with a broader range of colours and accessories.

I expect a proper character customization to be here by 2030 by Blizzards timeline :joy:

Well, there are no models for those. So it’s not that easy.
That really makes it a lot less likely this will ever happen.

As much as I love Wow. It has more potential that was it has ever realised,

Theres a multitude of simple things that they could add to the game that would make even better. More content, less systems!

I disagree with this and I mainly play Alliance, If something is good for customisation or the game and it makes sense, Just do it. Something cosmetic not getting added because it “isn’t fair on another faction” isn’t a good reason imo.

It’s why lots of warlock stuff got scraped because Blizzard thought it wasn’t fair on the other classes when it was really a cool concept they came up with. I’m all for class/faction uniqueness even if it’s not aimed at me, if it makes sense lore wise etc. It’s swings and roundabouts.

Can be done. Just give humans red eye option. Ta… DA

With the exception of velfs, all other models were created from scratch using existing rigs or original rigs like the kultiran. They already have one version up and walking around which makes their addition more likely than with no models at all.

And besides it’s not like they’d be a separate race. They’d just be skinny humans and beefy undead.

While I’m bias over this as I REALLY want Dark Rangers especially elven ones, Nathanos was a unique case, In lore his body he’s using isnt his own as his had rotten beyond decay the body he was using was his Brothers/Nephew? (Can’t remember) which involved a very rigorous ritual which also sacrificed Valkeyr so repeating it is really not possible.

Where as Elven bodies decay differently hence why Sylvanas was able to reclaim her own in the very good condition it is in.

When it comes to little features, I’d agree. But not when it comes to entire new models.

Surely now we have access to the shadowlands sacrificing a Valkyr may not be necessary and the magic is there (We really should’ve got necromancers) to repeat it.

Spoiler

Off topic kinda. Now that Nathano has been dispatched will he appear in teh shadowlands in his true form or his orginal form before he died to begin with.

That, is actually a really good point. He should appear as either his living human form, or as his original Undead form, as those were both his bodies, as opposed to the one he currently inhabits, which as someone mentioned above, is that of his Nephew, Stephan.

This said, we know people in the Shadowlands appear as an idealised version of themselves, so it depends which of those Nathanos regards as him on his ‘peak look’ I suppose.

Some of the Shadowlands stuff is a bit lore shady. The Kyrian story, whilst excellent, seems to play very hard and loose with the chronology of things, unless it is actually set at around the time of WotLK (Which is entirely possible) as before then Uther wouldn’t be able to do the thing (Trying to avoid Spoilers there) We have no idea when Ardenweald is set, as from memory there are no people from Azeroth in it. We know Maldraxxus is after WC3, because of Draka, and we know the Revendreth one is after WoD because of Stampy Boat model Orc.

Given what we -do- know of the Quests the Ardenweald cinematic could have been set before the Dark Portal even opened, or WotLK era, or even Post Legion (Though I’m going by the quests there, no spoilerino).

Even Sylvanas seems to have changed in how she appears, so is this her idyll as to how she sees herself? Then why the Scar? Is her idyll as the Banshee Queen, and not the Ranger-General? Or is it as simple as ‘she appears as what she wants because she has a special get out of Maw free card with the Jailor?’

To be honest, We don’t need Nathanos style Undead. It would totally dilute the Forsaken identity, because let us face it, he only got a model update when Steve ‘I wish I was Nathanos’ Danuser got his hands on his writing. Heck, he even -wrote- ‘Dark Mirror’. Nathanos is both a unique NPC that no one else has ever been created the same way, and a Self insert of a Blizz Writer. Just like Jaina, Sylvanas, Anduin, Lor’themar, Genn and co, as an NPC he has a unique look, that players cannot emulate.

He would have been far cooler if he still had his original model that actually -looked- Forsaken, but with all his snacky coats and leathers that he has. That would have looked cool. Very Cool. And not been a disservice to the Forsaken player base.

I -hate- this thing they do “We need a new Forsaken NPC!” “Cool, we can make them look like this!” “Why can’t we make them look like actual Forsaken?” “Umm…ummm…reasons?”

Sylvanas, Nathanos, Calia, None of them look like actual Forsaken. The only NPC who -does- is Lilian Voss.

I agree with long dreads and beards for male Forsaken though. Purely so we can then play Rob Zombie. Because why the heck not…
