Nazjatar and Mechagon

Hello there
8.2 has been out a week now. I got a few topics I would like to share my thoughts on it.

  1. Nazjatar
  • The area is filled to the brim with mobs that in some cases ( depends on your gear ) can kill you in a few hits. The agro-range is insanely narrow and often I find myself being stuck in combat for 5-10 minutes, even though I killed everything in sight. Not sure if its only me but I get dazed very often! This and being stuck in combat 95% of the time is not fun at all.

  • I find the daily quest and the variety of the Ally quest a welcoming change to only running tedious World Quests. What I find much disturbing is the gathering quests. The items one needs like ‘Sticky Seaweed’ and others, are shared with everyone! Why? Veins and herbs disappear after a short while after it’s been activated, but does give other players an opportunity to gather the material. Why this isn’t the case with other quest items that are, not only sparse, but also spread all over a very dense and populated area, I just don’t understand.

  • If you compare the rep recieved in Nazjatar too Mechagon I find it odd that it’s far easier to aquire the necessary rep for the “Battle for Azeroth Pathfinder Part 2”. The Nazjatar is a much larger area than Mechagon and you can fly around on a jetpack which makes repgrinding, questing and gathering a lot easier.

  1. Mechagon
  • Not much to say about this area other than I think it’s fun. I’m not sure if it’s the very welcoming feature of flight with the jetpack or the various crafting items you get access to. What is has in fun it lacks in accessibility. I don’t know if this will be implemented in the future, I might need to explore some more of the crafting items but I would like to see a form of “Gnomish transportation device” that would swoop me to Mechagon.

  • One thing I do find a bit annoying is the sharing of quests. Right now I have the “Abduction Reduction” quest. I need to shoot dowm some crates and catch whatever is in it. The thing is, there are a lot of players doing the same quest and I find it a annoying that they can catch the crate I shot down. I compare it to be the same as to kill a quest mob, have someone else loot it and then wait for respawn and then kill it again.

  • Repgrind here is way more accesable than in Nazjatar and the rares spawn quite often. What is the plands with this place after 3 weeks I wonder? There is little to no sentiment for me to go back here once I kill all the rares, get the mounts, the toys and all the recipes. Looking forward to see what’s next for this area

Thats all I have

Your thoughts?

There already is transportation device for mechagon btw. Schematic drops from Gear-Checker Cogstar.

Personally I quite like that when in Naz parts of it feel actually dangerous, you have to actually think about what mob you will attack, is there a patrolling mob wandering around you might attract, or will you stray to close to other mobs that will come help, so if not careful you can quickly find a single battle turns into you having to many for you to handle and having to up your game and try and win or leg it.

I agree the shared quests are not good, make all collect items personal not shared around everyone as if you are on during peak times its often almost impossible to find them in a time scale worth doing in. Also make quests which require you to do something after a kill personal, there are a few where you can do the work of killing something only to have someone run up last minute and take the quest credit item off you, that only encourages negative reactions between players, a bit like before players could share kills on quest mobs before tagging was a thing.

Being Dazed should not be an issue anymore, you can get mount equipment to prevent that, I have not yet bothered as I have not been dazed that much, but then I do try and move around large groups of mobs over riding straight through them when possible.

Overall I like the mix of quests in Naz from the puzzle type ones to the collect to the kill things.

My main grumble would be the event in the zone that happens, I have yet to have been on to complete this once, and unless you happen to be in the area where the big end boss appears you will likely not make it there in time as it gets killed way to quick, would have been better to have had this as a world boss like in other BFA zones. Once flying unlocks it will be more doable to get there in time but it’s a shame when you don`t have flying its down to luck of where you are when it happens.

Mech is a fun zone overall, I would have actually liked it to be a little bigger as you tend to be in the same places a lot as most of the quests share those same little spots, but the jetpack is a great idea and when you get one it makes the whole zone that much more fun as you can zip around it. I like the blueprint concept and being able to find and build items. And it feels the more you do there the more other things start to open up.

Not sure about how much I will want to redo them both on alts, I can see them getting a bit less interesting then, I would like to see a way to unlock some of the stuff on alts without having to do the same quest lines, so world quests etc unlock on account rather than per character , and same with the essences, they should be account unlocks not per character, I really won’t bother to unlock all of them again for every character, and once flying is unlocked there seems little real motivation to want to have your alts going there for anything other than the catch up gear, of which the gear itself is account bound but the pearls are not.
