Fellow (BM) hunters, how do you deal with paladins?
It seems that unless you have several people with you to really burst em down, there’s nothing I can do?
Compared to early days, they have ranged abilities that hit like a truck, Wings that up the healing seemingly so much that they get at least to half full with a single instant Word of Glory, Lay of Hands as another ‘heal to full’ button, and a bubble they can now use offensively, instead of not being able attack while it’s on (unlike our Aspect of the Turtle).
To add insult to injury, neither wings nor invulnerability bubble or absorb bubble can actually be dispelled by our Tranq shot (since they’re not magic effects but auras or whatever), and paladins are either totally immune to CC under bubble or temporarily immune to it due to Hand of Freedom (though I doubt 66% uptime can still be called “temporary”, but at least THIS is a magic effect that can be dispelled).
So. Tried kiting, but their ranged damage just using Judgment (which for 12 sec CD ability hits suspiciously often) is enough to seriously damage you. Unbound Freedom actually causes them to be FASTER than hunters (66% time anyways). Hand of Hindrance slows you to CRAWL of which the only way out is a disengage, which is predictable and often results in Hammer of Justice in the face before Disengage manages to move you even 2 yards (provided you can free yourself of that cursed 6 sec stun), since apparently Sir Isaac Newton ain’t a thing in WoW universe, and those 2 seconds of not being able to move is most of the time enough for Paladin to catch up with you (Unbound Freedom/Divine Steed) and rain absolute hell on you.
Aspect of the Turtle is largely useless because it only blocks physical damage, and if you cut paladin’s holy dmg by 30% it will still nuke you with Templar’s Verdict and the rest of pala burst.
Now, even using Aspect of the Turtle, Aspect of the Cheetah, Soulshape and Disengage, I cannot evade paladin long enough for their wings/bubble to go away - unless I’m literally in an open field with nothing at all interfering, because one red mob dazing you is entirely enough for pala to catch up and delete you.
With their HP, +30% effective HP from Shield of Vengeance and +100% (technically… realistically like 80-90%) Lay of Hands that’s over 220% effective HP you need to burn through and that’s not counting self heals. In addition to that - if you ever manage to burn through those ~50k effective HP they can just go invulnerable for full 8 seconds more. Sounds awesome, right?
I’m going to at least create a weakaura just to Scream at me the pala is immune to CC so I can shoot my tranq at them right when they use it and not 1 sec too soon… so I’m not wasting GCDs and CDs on panicked actions…
Any advice on what I’m doing wrong, or how else to improve my chances against the zealous little pink roaches?
