Need advice

Hi, looking for new pc to play wow on max settings. What you think about this one?

Intel® Core™ i9-9900K 3.6~5.0Ghz („CoffeeLake“) |
ASUS TUF Z390-PLUS GAMING | 16GB DDR4 |
500GB NVMe M.2 SSD ( ~3400 MB/s)
GeForce™ GTX 1660 6GB |

Price 1,260 EUR.

Overkill; tbh… more than adequate.

I would go for the GTX 1660 ti, instead of the GTX 1660.

hi, thank you.

it’s already pre-build pc. So other question, what kind monitor do I need for this pc? Must be same brand or does not matter?

Should go for 4k or less resolution, any suggestions?

Anything 2560x1440 will do; GTX1660 wasn’t built for 4K.

For 4K i would go for a GTX 2070 minimum.

Plz…don’t match an i9-9900k with a GTX 1660. It’s just wrong. You will see greater results with an i7 cpu and a 2060 or 2070…or even a 5700xt! If you buy such a strong cpu you should be match it with high end parts. Price to performance isn’t good on this one.

Hi all, thx for replies.
Found new prebuild pc.

| Intel® Core™ i9-9900K 3.6~5.0Ghz („CoffeeLake“) | MSI MAG Z390 TOMAHAWK | 16GB DDR4 | 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD | MSI GEFORCE® RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB|

But now need find monitor for it. Should I go for 4k 144hz 1ms ISP, or 60hz 4k? Can you tell the difference in wow, and can rtx2080 super really handle 144hz 4k?

Thank you all, all advises are welcomed.

Trust me, even a RTX 2080 cannot run 4K at 144hz (144fps) at the moment, you’re going to run at 60hz/fps right about now. It’s a lot of processing power for pushing that but you may be able to get up to 144 if you lower quality and all at those resolutions.

4K gaming is a bit early on and will take a generation or two for graphic cards to be able to push it properly. At least on a solo card system. Two GPU cards might get you there or near enough.

So I would say if you want to future proof your monitor for when you can play at those resolutions and framerates.

Best bet would be a 4K G-Sync monitor as at least then it can give a clear smooth image no matter what your RTX card can push out at 4K resolution while gaming but those monitors aren’t cheap right now.
