Plz…don’t match an i9-9900k with a GTX 1660. It’s just wrong. You will see greater results with an i7 cpu and a 2060 or 2070…or even a 5700xt! If you buy such a strong cpu you should be match it with high end parts. Price to performance isn’t good on this one.
But now need find monitor for it. Should I go for 4k 144hz 1ms ISP, or 60hz 4k? Can you tell the difference in wow, and can rtx2080 super really handle 144hz 4k?
Trust me, even a RTX 2080 cannot run 4K at 144hz (144fps) at the moment, you’re going to run at 60hz/fps right about now. It’s a lot of processing power for pushing that but you may be able to get up to 144 if you lower quality and all at those resolutions.
4K gaming is a bit early on and will take a generation or two for graphic cards to be able to push it properly. At least on a solo card system. Two GPU cards might get you there or near enough.
So I would say if you want to future proof your monitor for when you can play at those resolutions and framerates.
Best bet would be a 4K G-Sync monitor as at least then it can give a clear smooth image no matter what your RTX card can push out at 4K resolution while gaming but those monitors aren’t cheap right now.
