Need clarification on some aspects of "Recruit-a-Friend"

There are a couple of aspects of RaF programme that are a bit confusing to me. I was hoping some of you fine folks out there can clarify them a bit.

[1] Is there a time limit on the XP bonus you get from playing with your friend? I haven’t seen any mention of it for the current RaF system, but I remember that previously, there was a 90-day limit.

[2] In regard to me getting monthly rewards when a friend buys game time - do these purchases have to be consecutive? If my friend plays for, let’s say, 2 months, then stops for a month, then comes back later to continue playing, will I only get the first 2 rewards? Or will I resume getting rewards when they get back? The wording of the rules for this is a bit vague, so I was hoping for a clarification.

[3] This is the most confusing bit for me. The support article on the topic states that:

Once two accounts are linked, they will stay linked until the recruit has added 12 months of paid game time.

But , at the same time, the main page for RaF programme states:

Every 3 months after your 12 month reward, you’ll get 30 days of game time.

and

One Friend Adding Multiple Months of Game Time Secures the Same Rewards as… Multiple Friends Adding One Month of Game Time Each.

It seems to me that these bits contradict each other. If the link is broken after 12 months, then how can I earn the followup rewards of game time? If you assume the the answer to the first question is: “you can get rewards from additional recruited friends”, then this contradicts the last quote above.

So, can anyone clarify what actually happens after 12 months? Can me and my friend continue playing while getting +50% xp boost and retaining the ability to summon each other? Will I still receive game time rewards for as long as they continue playing?

  1. 50% xp bonus. Not sure how long it lasts, guessing it is forever due to the wording on support page.

  2. You can recurit yourself two times with 6 months on each recruit, which will give you the 12 months worth of rewards in 6 months. I tested this and my next reward is the camel mount and title.

point #2 is because you can add more wow accounts to your battle dot net account and they can stay as a free starter account so you only need game time.

Re (2) I am not looking to get all reward faster, I was just wondering what happens if a friend I recruit stops playing for a bit and then comes back.

The full part of that is:-

Once two accounts are linked, they will stay linked until the recruit has added 12 months of paid game time. An account link can also be broken if either party chooses to break the link, or the recruiter’s account is inactive (does not have active game time) for more than six months.

So the link will break if YOU do not remain active for more than six months. Other than that, the link remains until the recuited friend has paid 12 months of game time.

The main question here is, how can I keep getting game time rewards after 12 months if the link breaks after 12 months?

The link lasts until the recruiter has paid 12 months. It doesn’t state that it has to be within 12 months.

I’ll get some clarification on this point though just to be absolutely certain and reply here when I can.

Update: I was correct in that the payments do NOT need to be within 12 months. So if your recruit takes a 3 month break, then comes back and adds more game time, the link will still be active until 12 months have been PAID. It’s about months of gametime, not calendar duration.

Thanks. That answers one of my questions.

Do you have any information on what happens after 12 months? Can we still teleport to each other and enjoy other befits of playing together? Also, what about the rewards after 12 months of game time have been accumulated? The page states that you will get game time ever 3 months, but how does that work if the link is broken after 12?

Once 12 months have been paid and used, the bonuses would no longer be active. Again, this is about paid and used, not 12 months from when the link was created.

You get game time when every 3rd month of game time is added. It’s not about 3 months time, it’s about 3rd month of game time being added.

Example below:-
Recruited adds 1 month game time in Jan
Recruited adds 1 month game time in Feb
Recruited is on holiday in March and adds no gametime at all.
Recruited adds 1 month game time in April… BOOM 3 months have been added and eligibility for a free month goes to the recruiter.
This continues until 12 months game time have been paid for by the recuited and used even if it takes 15 months to finally pay that 12th month game time.

In regard to last point I made, I was referring to the statement on the RaF page that says:

Every 3 months after your 12 month reward, you’ll get 30 days of game time.

And I was wondering how’s that going to work if the link is broken after 12 months (of game time).

According to the article.

The first 12 rewards can be claimed at a rate of one reward per recruit per month, after which point you can claim 30 days of game time for every three months your recruits purchase

So, if the recuited player HAS completed 12 months paid game time, the link was not broken and you will continue to receive 30 days free game time for every three months your recruit purchases thereafter.

The link is only broken if you are not active in game for 6 months or more, or the link is actually requested broken by you or your recruited friend.

If at any point the link IS broken, all rewards and bonuses would cease.

I think I am still a bit confused about what happens after recruit has paid for 12 months of game time. What you just said contradicts what you mentioned about the bonuses ceasing after 12 months. But anyway, I will stop pestering you and will just wait and see what happens.

Alot is very shady with the whole System.
I recruited a friend and paid for him 2x180 Days of sub. Yet I did not receive any of the rewards except the first one.
Opend Ticket and support said I should wait, it can take up to 8Days… today is the 9. I reopend the Ticket…
Even that aside, how do you know the rewards would keep coming and that everything is active and ok? You have no way of checking the status. Hell it states it had to be an account that was not beeing used for over 2 years. There was no way to check that beforehand.
