So I’m having an issue with legion skinning, I have done both the two start up quests for Stonehide and Stormscale (have the rank 1 for both) but my skinning is stuck at 0/0 why is this? what am I missing, I cant start the breadcrumb quest to get the higher ranks because it says ‘I don’t meet the requirements’. I’m not willing to unlearn my profession as I have other expansions skinning at max.
Do you need to go to a trainer and learn Legion Skinning?
Can’t remember if it just is learnt automatically once you get the quest item. Go find a trainer and see…

Saddly no, been to the trainer many times, he doesnt have anything to teach, its done with a random drop quest which ive alrdy done, im generaly at a loss on why my legion skinning is stuck

checked the guide ^^ i have done both the sample quests and and the following quest that follows from each, as i have both rank 1 for both stormscale and stonehide, ive put a ticket into blizzard to also try and get an answer for this as there shouldnt be anything stopping my skinning from lvling so i think it may just be a bug of some sort
Did you try buying the catch up/relearn tome like one of the comments suggested? It worked for them, if it’s not expensive it might be worth a try.
It definitely sounds like some kind of bug

just tried and it worked! thank you i didnt see that comment earlier 
your a life saver. I’m not sure why this worked tbh because ive never abandoned skinning before but atleast its fixed

The person who made the comment said the same, they’ve never learnt the profession before but for some reason it worked

@Kolb, Punyelf: This is a pure guess, but it may have something to do with the fact that professions are expansion split. Perhaps the order in which one learns things can bug out the system.
@Kolb: Just out curiosity, did you happen to have BfA skinning before you started on Legion skill?
EDIT: Or are you missing skills from older expansion(s)?

Yeah i had BFA skinning before the legion skinning

@Kolb: That might have been the reason. As said, just guessing. In the old system one was obviously forced to start from the beginning, but that is no longer the case. If you ever acquire other skills for other characters, it might be worthwhile putting at least one point into each expansion in expansion order before focusing on something.
