Hey, so i havent been playing for a long while, alot of new pvp items…
Im i too late now? Should i wait til next season starts, or should i start gearing now? idk also all these weird new craftable pvp items im so lost anybody help?
- Gearing is really fast in this expansion. You can start now - and even better, all the unspent honor you have left when the season ends is KEPT, and you’ll be able to buy a full set of honor gear with it day 1 of the next content patch.
- You can craft custom PvP items, with more optimized secondary stats, and you can slot some special effects on them. You don’t “need” that yet though, so get a full set of honor and conquest first, and start looking more in depth at that kind of stuff later. It’s just min-maxing.
Its not fast tho if ur not good i get put into 1800 lobby as no rating at all… and everyone already is full conquest… also these crafting items idk how to craft them…
One day of playing and my alt is ilvl 440. No conquest boxes used.
All you need to do is weeklies, daily wins (random bg, skirmish, rbg, solo shuffle), can do some low rated arenas, that’s just fine. At this level you are already quite competitive.
One week casually playing and you are fully geared. At 1.6k (I believe?) you get one tier piece for free.
To craft the PvP gear you need to go to the NPC crafting orders. Google “Clerk Silverpaw location”
After doing one rated match (doesn’t matter which one I believe) you’ll get a quest that autocompletes itself and you get 2 tokens to craft 2 PvP pieces. So that’s basically free 875 + 700 conquest.
If you want full conquest gear asap then the best way to do that is to spam rated arenas and/or rbg, not solo shuffle.
-get a hybrid main
-use tank/healer role
-spam RBGs with a decent team
-send boxes to the other character
That’s how I gear my alts. Don’t bother with random BGs or RSS.
Do a couple of BGs before level 70, too, so you can fill the gaps with honour gear from the vendor. The pre-70 queues tend to be faster than those at level 70.
Here is how gearing works in Dragonflight:
- Get full honor gear first (3 epic BG wins or so should do it) - this is the fastest and easiest part
- After that - top priority: get your 2set or 4set, depending on your class/spec (some use the 2set, some the 4set, very rarely a spec doesn’t use any tier at all).
Get to 1600 rating in shuffle asap - this will give you an item that you can exchange for a free tier piece that scales to max level in PVP. Use your first gained conquest to buy normal conquest gear that you will exchange in the catalyst for another tier piece. For example, you got your free tier piece (helm) then you want tier chest - buy any conquest chest, regardless of stats, fly to the catalyst, exchange it for the tier chest.
Rinse and repeat until you have 2set or 4set, depending on what you want
-
After you have your set, do not buy regular conquest gear any more - just buy the 3 conquest items for crafting and craft gear with your best stats (f.e. vers/mastery). So late in the season you’ll get so many essences, that you can craft maybe 8-10 such items before you run out. The first 2 crafted pieces must be crafted with the best embelishments for your spec (these are special effects that you buy reagents for, and are imbued in your gear during crafting). The rest of the crafted PVP pieces will have no embelishments.
-
Fill up the rest of your gear with normal conquest gear (weapon/trinkets)
In the end, your perfect gear should be: 2 or 4 tier pieces, conquest weapon, conquest trinkets, all the rest crafted gear (at least 2 mandatory for the 2 allowed embelishments) or regular conquest gear, if you prefer to have more vers.
Welcome to Dragonflight!
Edit: you asked whether to gear now.
There are 3 weeks left.
Most people assume Season 3 will start 8 November (Europe) right after Blizzcon, with a “free week” and then rated activity is enabled, so 15 November is expected to be the first day when you can gain conquest in Season 3.
So it’s up to you. If I were you, I would just get better gear that comes naturally with conquest, but I wouldn’t stress on gearing too much
Well again i have no pvp skills, and u get sent into 1800 rated lobbies everyone has full conq i got no chance…u need 3 wins its very hard for me to get! And rbgs? they take ppl with full gear… i guess i have to wait til next season then.
Well no gear and no skill is a bad combination in rated environment.
Na, they don’t and you can still make an own group.
I also get declined on my MW alt even tho I am rocking 75%+ win rate in everything… some people will just always decline you.
You can also spam arenas, there quite a lot conquest farm groups. You can also start your own group. You can of course also wait for the next season, the gear difference from blue to conquest is not thaaat big.
If you have no PVP skills, just try to improve till next patch as much as you can. Forget about the gear, just learn arenas, play whatever you like.
the 7th the patch is gonna drop, what usually happens is that honor and conquest vendor wont be avaiable, BUT wpvp gear will be, and there might be alot of it, so u can just grab a party and do wpvp for a day or 2 and you will end up fully geared
Friendly gearing process:
Honor gear from spam Battlegrounds
After full honor gear, make LFG grp for 2v2 or 3v3 to spam games on low rating. Note your group to be to cap conquest.
Should take a few hours to fully gear up if you spam games and learn simulatenously
Avoid Solo Shuffle until you’re fully geared with conquest gear
Convert conquest pieces to tierset
Watch high rated streamers play your spec for advice
There you go
