If you are new i guess the damage speccs are the best for you. Balance is very easy to play. I personally never really liked feral tho.

You can always go tank or healer later on if you learned the dungeons a bit if you want to try another role

The cool thing about druids is how versatile they are: you can do it all! I’d personally give it a try to see what exactly you like about them.

If you don’t want to commit to levelling anything unknown you could give a class trial a whirl. You get to try it out for three hours.

Then if you like it you could create your chosen class and level it.

I’ve played Balance Druid a bit, but not to a max level. For me it felt like “melting” things, if you enjoy that type of gameplay

I just read some article state that Feral is excellent for PvP, but perhaps not easy for newcomers.

To my understanding as a druid you’re supposed to use the other forms once a while for the most effective gameplay - the travel form for traveling, the cat form for sneaking around like a rogue and the bear form for when you get into trouble and need to withstand damage

I would say retribution pally. Is simple, fast and you can cure yourself.

Druid is a great class for the undecided! Gear-wise, there is a lot of overlap these days (especially between feral/guardian and balance/restoration), and you can try out all four roles in the game.

For leveling, guardian or feral are nice (tanks can solo anything easily, even group quests), and in groups I’d say balance is probably the easiest. Feral isn’t as easy to play well as balance, comparatively.

But ultimately, I’d pick the spec (and class) that appeals the most to you. You’ll spend a lot of time with the character.

Guardian is amazing for solo leveling and questing even at max level. I thoroughly enjoy it! If you plan on doing a lot of dungeons I’d recommend giving another spec a try as well, that way you can just follow the tank and get to know the dungeons

Druid is a solid class but hard to master. But you’ll be set on all roles which is a great thing about the class.

If you ever want to try another one I would recommend paladin, all 3 specs are good and relatively easy.

Balance is not particularly easy to play, stick to bm hunter as a starter spec.

Guardian, hands down. It does great damage and is very survivable, this alone makes it perfect for both solo and group play.

Your dps players will teach you xD at least as you start out as a tank. DPS players have a bad habbit of pulling for the tank. I also recommend Mythic dungeon tools if your gonna start tanking.

They have their own website with easy enough routes to start doing.

After you start doing 11+ as a tank and above… And your dps shrooms still pulls for you as a tank. Let them die… Ask them what they have learned afterwards

Might I suggest to stick to the non-dps specs of druid? Here is my reasoning.

  1. Generally players are pretty competitive, so anything dps related will have you judged by the dps meter by your team. Sticking to tank/healer will alleviate that, and also allow you to find groups WAY easier.
  2. Because tanking is abit weird, and can be daunting to new players I would suggest to start with resto at lower keys. This way your job will be pretty easy (there is not much damage going on there), and you can focus on watching how other tanks play.
  3. After some runs/time you can also switch to guardian to play both specs. Generally the fastest way to learn to tank, is to watch how others do it, and after playing resto for abit, tanking will come faster to you, and you will be able to double check with how other tanks play.

Generally this would be the easiest way to approach it, although I can understand if you want to focus on a single spec (in which case, i would suggest resto, since i find it abit more interesting, and healers are in high demand right now).
