I try to learn playing disc but I absolutely suck at it. I watched guides on YouTube but I still suck. I shield Brann up and dps all I can but he still dies like a little kid in a broken wheelchair without wheels. I switch to holy and press flash heal a couple times and he’s superman. What am I doing wrong? It’s really frustrating to no end. I wanna play disc but it just doesn’t work.

If you need to do high spot healing, as in healing one target quickly, atonement usually isnt your best option. Shield, penance and flash heal will generally be more effective. If you play an atonement focused build (voidweaver with bender), you can heal quite a lot by damaging when you have your cds and modifiers active. But outside of your bender and mind blast window your atonement healing will be significantly worse than using your normal single target healing spells.
Some other minmaxing you can do: if you play weal and woe, try to use it for shield instead of smite. Use mindblast before penance to trigger the buff, this also works for defensive penance.
