It seems that hardcore servers that should be the most stable crash more than any other.

As you say you agreed to it but crashes on this type of realm can be devastating.
Blizzard will do nothing about it, it’s not that they can’t, it’s that they won’t as it would cost them a lot of money for relatively few players.
Is making a server more stable so expensive?
I guess they want us to die to go again and pay sub for another month.
Nothing can make a server 100% crashproof unless you have it doing a back up every few minutes onto another server which would slow the main server down.
No server infrastructure can/will offer 100% uptime. Outages could be caused by many factors and funnily enough a large majority of them outside of Blizzard’s control.
I know it sucks for HC folk but it’s really just how it is. We don’t notice outages on other things because they simply aren’t as devastating.
I’m not backing Blizz up here by the way, just saying it’s not always within their control. I do think that it’s the worst possible outcome for any HC characters and any HC character deserves to go out on their shield, so to speak.
It can’t be that hard to roll back to just before the crash tho. I mean you can restore items you deleted a lot longer ago than that so the information is stored somewhere…

Makes perfect sense mate, but they haven’t done it when the big “purging day” happened and half server (with 8 layers) died, i doubt they’ll do it now. Lost my 59 rog back then and haven’t touched hc till sf came out. Sorry for your losses.
I wasn’t online but I saw the warning posts in our disc. And yeah they don’t do any rollbacks
At population this low it seems Blizzard didn’t get the suscribers numbers from HC realms they anticipated, so 2 EU realms were moved to some third grade hardware that crashes with barely onyone online.
