the amount of pets and mounts you can make with the synthesis forges is overwhelming atm… I play every day (sadge I know) and I barely made a couple of things. The next xpac will come and I doubt I’ll be even half done. This either requires some mindless grinding or idk.
I mean, we already need mindless grind to get rare items for the syntheses but the motes on top of that make it an atrocious experience. Frankly… I don’t see a reason why the mote cost shouldn’t be reduced by 33% or so… it’s still a lot of work and gametime but atm I just… don’t even feel like getting into it. No way Imma ever collect enough motes for that…
I get it’s to keep casuals busy but really… do casuals enjoy this mindless grind? Does it need to be over the top?

I think I’ve got 3 or 4 mounts, not 100% sure and I’ve made maybe 2 pets to sell. I don’t play every day by any means. Are you doing those boxes from the little jiru guy or whatever they are? They can reward a handful too

They either need to buff the drop rate or reduce the amount required for crafting.
I’ve crafted 5 mounts so far, & zero pets & All The Things add-on states I still need over 14 Thousand motes to craft the rest.
easier to redduce the amount required imho. I mean they need to do something. I can’t imagine coming back to ZM throughout the next xpac farming genesis motes >.<
Once I complained they added too many mounts in this patch and people were like “oh how can you complain about too many mounts” - yeah exactly this is why I complain - 15k motes to farm? no way
Just join farm groups and u done in no time, u get like 1-2k motes each hour.
Just timed myself farming motes solo, and it took me 15 minutes to get 100. It’s around 18k motes for the full set of mounts and pets, so that’s about 20 hours total of farming for this character fully geared up through ZM content with 2 x leggos, 2 x tier pieces and 4 x ZM buffs.
And note that we’re probably only 1/5 of the way through ZM time-wise so there’s a lot of time to farm the mounts.

in fact you need just 5 pet\mount for the achievement. many mount are just recolors. so not worth doin’em all… and even if you want all of them there is a loooooot of time til DF…

Generally, I avoid saying anything about “casuals”, since there is no fixed definition of the word, or about what any segment of players enjoy, but I think I’m quite safe this time.
I definitely like this iteration compared to Nazjatar or Mechagon, hopping or trying to camp, hoping clowns would not burn it so I could alt tag, and praying rng gods to drop a mount i liked.
People whine about rng but when a deterministic system is in place then it is " too grindy".
I can log in and work towards a mount I like instead of wasting 3 hours with nothing to show for it.
I’d rather they weren’t BoA really, just let me buy them from the AH if I don’t want to farm.
I don’t like this. I need to get lucky to get the recipes, then lucky to get the rare material, and then farm thousands of motes. Oh and the recipes are not shared. Why is this good?
And this is not deterministic, some material based on luck.
Aren’t the other mats account-wide? So it shouldn’t matter. The only things that aren’t account-wide are buyable from AH
