While this is true Ret is 2nd best meele spec at the moment and is extremely rough to face because of poor damage tuning what we agreed before. If you should expect anything in 9.1 it should be obvious that nerfs are more likely or maybe a rework/tuning not giving the best utility in the game. I don’t expect any pre-9.1 changes so I think that my post is justified. I don’t blame you or ret players though so I’m not attacking you. I blame these incompetent devs.
How do you determine that ret is the 2nd best melee? In AWC finals ret performed very badly.
AWC and meta are two different things. Neither Destruction or Frost Mage are top meta spec and they were in AWC final because of comfort pick and skill level of players playing them.

According to these statistics it’s not only 2nd most populare meele but also 2nd most successful one.
If you check skill-capped tier list it’s also placed as 2nd best meele.

I understand AWC and ladder have different metas but ret was used only in one match up where it went 0-3 in the finals. I’m not saying ret is bad but it’s not the demigod people claim it is.
Literally no one is going to be in 197 gear in next patch, you get higher gear than that through just leveling. Hell, you can get normal-raid tier ilvl gear from Crafting, so ANYONE can get geared.
People die to it, rage, and go to cry on the forums about it. It’s a tale as old as time
Rets are great in 3’s, yes, but they are still below Arms warrior, holy paladin and fire mage.
Also, if you try to queue in 3’s as Ret without any of the above-mentioned classes, you’re gonna have a bad time. The reason Ret right now is so good in 3’s is because of the synergy with the other best performing specs, not inherently because of Ret.

why is everyone saying stuff like this about their spec?
all dks say they just enable warriors or monks,
all sub rogues say they just enable mages,
all firemages say they need someone to help them with their setup or they cant kill anything.
Surprise, WoW Arena isnt 1vs1. If your spec has good synergy with multiple specs and has a few s tier combs then its because the spec is strong.

Ladder and AWC are two different stories as I said but the problem is the fact that Ret is going to get buffed not nerfed in 9.1 while being 2nd best meele because of highest burst damage in the game and Healing Hands. If we expected any changes that was damage tuning - shift from Templar Verdict to Crusader Strike and Blade of Wrath that do absolutely nothing.
