Your 3 button ret rotation judgement, divine storm, wake of ashes doesnt do tanks damage it doesnt even create the holy power to use those 2 abilities. Assa with fan of knifes, crimisom tempest and envom spam does around 2m dps though.
Ret need to manage generator cd and effects, passive charging(fast), holy power and not overcapping it.

-then planning those generator abilities on ahead not to over cap holy power while keepin an eye on passive charging rate and different kind of procs and using cds lining every 30sec and every 60sec.

pls, show me how you do 2m dps with crimson, knives and envenom. Iâd like to see that. That would be possible only through crimson on a HUGE pack like in Temple of Setralis before the last boss, because it scales with numbers, otherwise, you have no chance to achieve that dps without caustic spatter, for which you need another two abilities to maintain it. And I also wonder where you get energy for knives without dots spread. Before you make such a statement at least play the rogue for an hour, another trolling ret in disguise.
The thing is you are correct to some extent. Yes rogue/assa take more effort and focus in m+ aoe, but you shouldnt struggle to keep up with rets. Yes rets burstly aoe dmg profile is strong, instant and on low CD available pact to pact, while you keep speading and maintancing dots. But this is only in favor for rets in lower keys. The reward for your effort is in higher keys 9âŚ12+. Rogue is s-tier #1 melee meta atm in higher keys where ret fall to middle pact of A-tier. In higher keys it is rogues world, enchament shaman, frost dk and unholy too for melee. If you are doing these high lvl keys and get outperformed by ret paladins then maybe you are not good as you think you are. The data is there after all and rets dont get easily to higher lvl mythics becouse there are specs like assa and so on.
And for raiding assa is easy and smooth as fotm rogues brain and still S-tier while ret is in A-tier so i say there is nothing wrong with ret paladins atm they are in good place but not op, while rogues thrive as usual.
Show how ret beats you on dps with 3 buttons that can not do that because ret is a builder spender and you have failed to understand this.
For everything you said about rogue rotation apply to rets that is why we could confidently conclude weeks ago that you are a moron who does not actually understand what you are talking about.
