Spending an hour+ on a run and ending up with nothing is decidedly unfun. Torghast is way too random and badly balanced across classes. There are still some overtuned bosses or even empowered minibosses you can run into.
Just did one side layer 5 easily, then on the other side layer 5 I ran into Empowered Imperial Consular blocking the exit to floor 6. This dude was casting Sin Bolts every 2 seconds for 10k average damage (15k+ max), AND seemingly randomly hitting me with “you cannot attack or cast spells” for 6 seconds. No way to interrupt most of that, and the pacify would keep messing up my healing.
Everything else was easy/boring, and right at the end I find out I’ve wasted my time. Fun.
I hate this piece of content with a passion, its so RNG based its unreal, some runs I get powers that do absolutely nothing for me OR that I can use one time on a floor. I actually hate it, it tilts me every time I do it… its the most anti fun thing I’ve ever seen that you are FORCED to do.
Yeah, I feel the same. I felt it was OK for most classes at launch, then all the buffs started being applied to it.
Whenever I do higher floors, the buffs become fewer and further between which is kind of counter-intuitive since the difficulty one is facing is ramping up a lot each floor.
IKR, the legends are kind of over-rated anyway. ilvl 200+ is easy from world boss, M+, PVP, raid, etc etc. Riding would be good, who doesn’t want extra speed. But if I have to I’ll force myself to go without and keep making that walk. Thankfully the maw isn’t massive in size.
Yes, EMPOWERED IMPERIAL CONSULAR on level 4 effectively stopped my tour, 40k HP and that insane spamming of sin bolts + pacify kills me every time, soloed bosses easily but this just kills me every time, not saying thing need to be easy but 3 shotting 40k health in 10 secs (6 of which im pacified for no apparent reason, so i guess instant cast)
