I just confirmed in arena what I had suspected for a while : netherward DOESN’T reflect spells that you cast yourself
If a warrior or enemy warlock uses netherward, and I use netherward myself then toss them a chaos bolt, the bolt gets reflected by their reflect back to me, but DOESN’T get reflected back by my own nether ward
Is this a bug or is this intentional ?
Chaos Bolt is calculated right after the cast is finished. So you can’t reflect it.
this is poor WoW engine design, things like - double reflect or reflect when a projectile in the air already, don’t work here.
I don’t think it’s poor game design. If you cast a Chaosbolt on a warrior with reflect or a warlock with Netherward up, you deserve to be punished.
if my target has reflect and i purposefully put reflect on myself before casting CB on them, it should do the double rebound its just common sense

But you casted Nether Ward after the cast of cb and cb dmg is done after the cast is finished.
Example I killed a mage while he was in Ice Block. Because he activated IB after the cast had finished.
I’m saying I casted netherward BEFORE the cast of cb.
Enemy puts NW on them
I put NW on myself
I cast CB
CB is reflected by enemy NW
CB is NOT reflected by my NM => this is the part that I don’t get

3 second NW with gcd 1,5 seconds and cb cast 2,3 seconds. Your NW was off.
