I started the 8.3 Update Questchain and got to the point where I needed to cleanse Uldum from the N’zoth invasion.
I then decided to factionchange back to Alliance were all my friends were playing, with the quest still intact.
Obviously some things are resetted, like war campaign progress etc etc.
Also the 8.3 quest chain had reset.
However when It’s time for the quest called “Network Diagnostics” it doenst show up at Magni.
I meet al requirements to do that Quest.
I’ve opened a Ticket already and got a -Really- dissapointed answer:
“GM’s cannot help me progress in quests or share any details on how to continue a quest, I should look at wowhead.com for quest information.
Have a nice day”
But the problem isn’t that I dont know how to do the quest, It’s that my faction change messed something up with the pre-requirements.
There is a US forum post of this as-well and only a GM could sort this, which was done.
I can’t play any of the new 8.3 content, like getting the cloak and farm for rep.
So i think blaming blizzard is good idea as they are not advising people to finish quest chains first (they already know that chains can break from faction changes). Ticket is your only way i suppose, no one from here can help you directly, people will only advise to make a ticket even though it shows so long estimated time.
You don’t have to, there wouldn’t be many characters around, who don’t have a partially done questline somewhere or another.
It’s not too likely that things are in an untenable situation imo. It’s more a question of picking up the right quest (or prerequisite). Since this questline take you all over the world, and isn’t just limited to a small area or one zone, it’s a bit harder than it would be otherwise, but it should still be fine.
After the change, I was required to restart the chain, however after completing the quest “Where the Heart is”
the chain suddenly jumps to the last Quests I was on when I was horde.
That makes sense, as “Where the Heart Is” is one of the early Quests which is alliance-specific. The follow-up to that quest is Network Diagnostic, but you already completed that one. Most of the quests after that are shared for both factions so basically after “Where the Heart Is” you could pick up where you left off most likely.
