Hello there,

I recently purchased a new desktop computer and I’m having some issues with the wifi network.
The 2.4 GHz network seems to accumulate latency up towards 1000ms after which it simply disconnects me from Bnet. Upon reconnecting my ping is back to my usual around 20 ms. The 5 GHz network seems to get massive laggspikes that last for 1-2s, sporadically.
I don’t think that it’s a wow problem as my laptop does not seem to have the same issue, and some googling on “Realtek 8822CE networking adapter” seems to suggest that it’s a hardware issue, however, none of the tech support posts that I’ve found actually provide a solution for the public, rather it’s just cryptic “contact our tech support on phone numer”.

Anyway, I wanted some help with interpreting the results from running the Battle.net Looking Glass tool, here are my results:

Can anyone help me make sense of this? It certainly doesn’t look normal to my eye to have 100 % package loss and a sudden lagg spike at 700 ms but then I am not a networking engineer and I don’t really understand what I’m looking at.

I am not going to try and interpret those traces, because I suck at it. I just wanted to suggest that some ISP provided WiFi Routers are very underspecified for the job being asked of them. Usually they don’t have enough internal ram to cache the ARP tables, which can lead to exactly what you are experiencing. Lag spikes.

I’m not sure what kind of troubleshooting you’ve done so far, however I would highly suggest that you start from here.

If this produces no results for you, could you also attach the WinMTR results here?
