[Neutral] [RP] The Cursekeeper Association - Wielding Power for a Brighter Future!

Greetings and salutations!

I’m happy to announce that we are still quite alive! Although we have been taking it a bit slower the past weeks due to IRL complications, we aim to pick up the pace again soon!

Quite a bit has transpired in the past months! A few examples being:

  • Together with our allies from the Far Reach, Sparkforge Industries (and by extension B.O.O.M.T.E.C. Inc) and the Ashen Mercenary Company we’ve breached the Firelands in order to take the fight to wayward Druids of the Flame. Expecting a hellish landscape of eternal hellish flames, they instead encountered a land of dead stone, haunted by the corruption of the Void. Although they were made to retreat before their task came to a conclusion, efforts are underway to one day soon return and finish whatever nefarious practices are at play.
  • One of their first true enemies, a mad-struck loa whom possesses the power to alter time through sacrifices of souls, stirred deep beneath the desert-land of Tanaris. In their pursuit to halt this creature the association together with newfound allies encountered a variety of time-lost creatures and scenarios, only to take the fight to the resurrected head priestess; an evil dark troll hell-bent on binding the loa’s power to her will. In the end the priestess was slain and the loa returned to nightmares. It is up to the Cursekeeper Association to find a true end to the terrible danger the loa poses, would he awaken once more.

We have a new officer! Henceforth, Vesparin (Alliance) and Illarois (Horde) may be reached out to if you have any interest in our little guild in addition to our other officer Zayzi who changed classes so he is henceforth known as: Záyzi.

For the foreseeable future you can find us dwelling in Rustberg Village, which lies located on the island of Tol Barad.

Once things are a bit more on track, we’ll be heading steadily for the following milestones:

  • With our numbers grown, we aim to evolve into an association with an inner circle which allows for greater growth for the people that would like to dedicate their character further (and have the time to do so). Since we are strong believers that RP shouldn’t be gated, this won’t derive anyone with the associate rank from most if not all RP. More on this soon!
  • With the acquisition of numerous magical weapons, artifacts, cursed items of yore and riches, the association is looking for a place to safely store such, be it for research or to keep it out of the eyes and hands of ne’er-do-wells. This may unofficially include a set of prisoners they have collected over the past months.

All in all, the future looks bright and I hope we’ll be able to provide an entertaining scenario for all and any involved!

Due to the rising concerns of a number of would-be dubious individuals, we have decided to address the issue by selecting a spokesperson who will address the public and surely put any unreasonable rumors regarding the number of warlocks, demon hunters and void creatures amongst our number to rest.

It is with great joy I introduce to you:

Many thanks, goodly Zyallent! Both for the praise and your attentiveness. It is much appreciated.

Due to a (somewhat sudden) change in my personal life, I find myself having to take a hiatus from WoW for the foreseeable future. Running a guild and being an active member of the community simply requires too much of my time and attention if I want to deliver my guildies and friends any sort of consistent quality.

Although I am sad having to take a step to the side, fret not! The Cursekeeper Association is now in the capable hands of a triumvirate of officers: Tiuviel(A) / Zázyi(H), Vesparin(A )/ Illarois(H) and Leytrapper(A) / Reylyn(H).

I have no doubt that these three officers will take the guild further to greener and ever-more cursed pastures, which I hope will remain a haven for people to come together and focus on having fun with our beloved hobby: roleplaying cool stories!

To everyone I had the great pleasure of roleplaying with, be it during elaborate events or simple run-ins across the world(s): Thank you for the great memories. Roleplay can only succeed if we do it together, and I had some right-out awesome times.

I’ll be updating the post above to reflect any changes.

The Association has returned to Rustberg after venturing out on an expedition beyond the stars, orchestrated by the Assembly of Dusk.
Plenty of artifacts were secured, pried from the hands of the Shadowguard, yet our escape from Eredath did not come without loss. They were severely outnumbered in their battle against the Shadowguard, and our very own Azori Starchill was vanquished in the end. A death worthy of a hero.

The Cursekeeper Association were a pleasure to RP with during the Shadowguard Heist - one of those guilds I’ve always liked in concept and wanted to interact with, but I never had the chance until now.

RIP Azori, my character didn’t get to know her but that was a real bittersweet ending to the campaign and I liked how it was written.

An army was on the march toward Tol Barad. Cultists, demons and pirates alike, all swayed by the influence of an insidious Nathrezim. The Cursekeeper Association defending the island they had come to call their home, had made preparations in the days before.

The bridges leading towards Rustberg village were blocked with barricades. The pier was destroyed to lure the pirate ships into a rocky bay, where a storm would greet them. The path next to the eastern bridge was drenched by their stormbringer and dug up in order to create a mud-trap for the marching army.

Little did the Cursekeepers understand the futility of it all.

As the opposing forces met on the battlefield, it seemed that the defenders of Tol Barad had the upper hand. Lured into the mud, orcs were slipping and falling in their masses, becoming easy pickings for the Cursekeepers to finish off.

But their advantage would not last for long.

The barricades meant to force the orcs into this advantageous position proved little match for the Dark Shaman and berserkers in their midst, and their army began to pour through the central isle, the Cursekeepers had no choice but to split their forces and regroup at the two remaining bridges, where they would hold the forces of demons, cultists and risen skeletons in a chokepoint for as long as they could muster.

The bloodbath raged for what felt like an eternity, one chokepoint lead by Tiuviel, their Lightforged Paladin, another by Lord Frost, their knight in Death.

To make matters worse, enemy ships were now sailing in through the bay. The Association’s stormbringer fought against Dark Shaman for control of the elements in order to stop the coming fleet, and nearly lost her life as a result.

After what felt like an eternity, the Cursekeeper Association were forced to retreat back into the center of the village, where they would soon come toe to toe with the head of the orcish cultist. The towering, demon-corrupted orc fought fiercely, but met his end at the hands of Rustberg’s defenders.

As the orc warlord fell however, the true master of this dark army made his appearance at last. A towering dreadlord who snuffed out the life-force of his remaining cultists, using it as fuel to cast a terrible spell on the Association.

Battered, cursed and on the brink of exhaustion, the defenders had no choice but make their escape, tearing open a rift onto one of the damaged ships that floated in the bay.

Their home lost, they now find themselves at the mercy of the storm.

If there is a light at the end of this tunnel, only time can tell.

After a long night of blood, sweat and tears, but most importantly, glorious combat, our brave Associates now find themselves shipbound on a harrowing journey with no light in their sight.
Will they eventually find a new home where they may recover their strength and continue their work anew? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain. They have an interesting journey ahead.

On that same note, we will be closing off IC recruitment for the time being, but do not fret! This will only be the case until our story has reached a point where it makes sense to welcome newcomers again, and should only last for a few weeks.
If you’re interested in the guild, you can of course still reach out to us OOC, and we’d be happy to have a chat.

The Assembly and the Cursekeepers are just something else entirely. A fresh breath in a world full of villain guilds and light zealots. Wholeheartedly support this concept and I cannot wait to see more of them along the way.
