Yeah… I’m Vodafone Portugal. Looks like a lot of vodafone clients over Europe are experiencing this issue which points to an ISP problem, not a Blizzard problem making this more hard to fix as ISP providers usually don’t care about these issues XD
As in this topic OP suggested (ISP is routing WoW traffic through the U.S., causing high ping)
VPN of some sort is workaround till Vodafone fixes it.
EDIT: can confirm, as fellow below me saying, that it appears to be fixed and thus no VPN is not needed.
Some guys are saying it’s ISP (most specifically Vodafone), some say it’s not. Not an expert, so I won’t say what it looks like anymore XD but yeah, Cloudfare WARP appears to have at least mitigated the issue in the afternoon. Now the ping is perfect 30/30 and been like that for 1h.
There is one person that provided that same data as the OP on that post that you linked that is experiencing the same issues and doesn’t have Vodafone as ISP provider.
My ISP isn’t Vodafone and I have massive lag spikes (2-3 seconds) and constant disconnects during last week, today is almost impossible to play, 1-2 seconds with home and 2-3 with the world. I don’t have this lag or problems with any other game…

Node 8 is the last one of my ISP, and the issues take place at the node with “blizzard” in the name. It’s absurd and keeps happening entirely too often - breaking more keys than I’d like…
Yea the issue is inside Blizzard infrastructure… Nothing new…
Yup. I’ve played lots of online games over the years, and if there were any connection issues it was fixed in a few hours, not months like Blizz does…
And no other game had such major issues with connecting. Small indie company at its finest.
At the end of last years they had a node that they have under a lease contract that was causing insane issue, even after muliple report they was still saying that was not they’re fault…
And now the same node is back in action causing issue…
