Never getting mythic+ invite

in b4 do your own key

They just leave when they see a lock. Why is the community perception so bad for locks in M+ when I can pull some insanely good numbers for my ilvl? I did mecha mythic normal last night, my group made by me, and I was pulling a high average of around 45kdps. In packs I took advantage and made it to over 125kdps from time to time. Single target bosses easily pulling around 90k-100kdps. What’s the issue?

Why can’t I even get an invite for as low as +4’s? A guy even lied to me about why he didn’t want to invite me, citing that his friends were coming instead, despite him telling me he’s looking for a dps and is listed in the group finder. He might not be lying but it was suspicious.

So again, why are we the plague when it comes to M+?

Because we got no mobilty Burning rush is bad If it only was movement speed it would be good But it makes you run faster and drains hp Healer cant always heal you

Unfortunately its the same with everyone.

I have almost 2.2k score but getting into a +15 or +16 for the weekly chest is a struggle.

Funny thing is; my 471 DH gets an immidiate invite.

I once had a lock in my group who refused to put down the cookie well before key was inserted. We asked why, and he said, he often gets kicked after he places cookie well.

Imagine that.

Being baited into a group just for cookies.

What a life.

that’s devastating, poor guy :frowning:

@Inagony: Ofc your Dh get’s an invite, they’re SO good at survivability and aoe. I mean they’re insanely good for it. They were made specifically for this content I believe.

Lack of utility, why bring a lock when you can bring a class that can do more damage while providing utility?

I can keep up damage wise most of the time with my group but outside of Gateway, healthstone and imp dispel I provide very little compared to for example a BM hunter.

Thats why the guild i’m in exist of my brother and some irl friends of us We do mythics and dont care about dps or class
Just make a guild with some irl friends and you can do mythic all you want witouth getting worried you wont be invited

Although being a lock may not help, I dont think this is the main reason why you’re not being invited.

People have a lot of dps to choose from when they make a group and they’re going to pick the best people available to them. How can someone know how good you are? They can’t, but they can guess from your ilvl (is your character geared enough/overgeared for key?) and raider io score (have you had experience with this key level and dungeon before?). Obviously meta classes usually require you to be less qualified but ilvl/rio are usually more important.

I play lock and dh, and in my experience, it takes me about 5 minutes longer to find a key I want to do on lock than on dh.

On the flip side, Im much more likely to be invited to a pug raid/ raiding guild/ arena pug on my lock.

Hey guys, back from doing some m+'s

So as it turns out, ofc you guys have some good points but it seems the main reason is:

“if I invite based on ilvl it doesn’t matter if the player is bad or not because they will do great damage anyway, greater if they’re good. I avoid warlocks because in my experience the lock has to be very skilled even at higher ilvls to be able to compete with my (a DH) dps.”

So I got invited to the group anyway, it was a +6 mechagon workshop. Nice and easy and I couldn’t fathom why I just wasn’t being invited even after talking to the lead.

The lead was an undergeared 250khp healer, the real lead was a DH at around 475ilvl with huge corruptions. I spoke with this DH and he was real enough with me to explain why I keep getting declined, then eventually understood my solo player position and believed in my ability to play my class and invited me.

I went on the run, I competed with the other DH (there were 2 of them) in dps, easily outdid the DK but ofc this guy was #1 by miles on all pulls. I realised though that I couldn’t keep up with the group mobility-wise. I forgot to talent into burning rush but still, these guys were at mobs atleast 5 seconds earlier than I got there and by time I started unloading decent chaos bolts they were nearly dead anyway…

Could also use potions There are potions for movement speed Its safter then burning rush

I’ve nevet had an issue with my health and burning rush to be honest, unless you’re below 50 it’s pretty safe but yeah lightfoot potions are underated. In low keys it’s always gonna be more difficult to keep up because everything dies so fast. Once you get going +12s and beyond it feels much better.

in m+ i do 110k+ dps higher than the dps pugs i’ve been with mage/rogue/hunt/dh just try going premade with guildies or communities, if people say because utilities, we have healthstone, battle res, worst case scenario summon portal.
I see people taking other classes cus what they think is better but 70% of the time the player is not playing well with the demand class

It’s true, I mean after weeks of trying to get an M+ invite, last night I finally got some likely because it was about 3am.

Every m+ I did with this particular group I was, no joke, doing x3 of their avg dps. I had a good time competing with a rogue at one point who said he was surprised at my dps considering my gear. He was a bit higher ilvl than I was. It was just the very last one with that DH group where I was competing for 2nd place lol. I think I just need to get into some higher keys so I get chance to do dmg, because even in the DH group in mecha I was topping 1st place on some bosses easily.

So it seems that warlock have some inherite problems when it comes to lower keys such as mobility and instant burst ability with low CD’s, but then due to community perception, we aren’t getting invited to higher keys because they’re basing us on our lack of change to perform in lower keys. Oh, and that DH thing I mentioned above.

Warlock soul stone and health stone can be usefull to If tank or healer died and you used soul stone they come back to life and can pick up tanking or healing again

that depends on who you talk to though, a lot of specs are good if you are able to play around then and numbers wise warlocks are like the third best dps class for dungeons if the game because of how powerful their infernals are, so the only problem is that pugs done understand that and dont play around it meaning that you are seen as being more useless as you dont get the chance to optimise your cooldowns, unlike other specs that have shorted cooldowns

I am well aware of of this, we’re still not gonna out dps a BM hunter or even provide half the utility.

Add that we cant really do proper damage unless you’re doing 20+ keys and its no wonder warlocks have a bad rep in m+.

Blame blizzard for that and the lack of a dev who can fix warlock

Think its because of your specc. There is no competition in aoe and ST between demo and destro, demo just outdps destro in every situation besides pure 2 target bosses where they get to havoc.
