Wowhead datamined something very interesting : A new feature which allows you to craft up to 23 mounts and a ton of pets.
This is PTR datamining, keep in mind that every detail may change before release.
TLDR :
A sub-profession feature just like the 8.2 Junkyard Tinkering
100% of the mats currently on the PTR are either BOA or tradable
How the features or the recipes are unlocked is still unknown, the PTR is not yet testable.
Currently crafts at least 23 mounts and 28 pets
This seems very interesting and honestly a breath of fresh air after years of random drops or currency/rep grinds.
And if the mats are still tradable at launch then you’ll have a lot of opportunities to earn gold from the open world, just like how the Korthia crystals could earn you in the thousands a day around launch.
Honestly it looks really good. And this might be a big test for future outdoor content. I think this can only be seen as a good thing. As of what we know now, and my opinion can change trough the PTR cycle. But very promising.
Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t the stables about capturing beasts in the open world and get them as basic mounts with no Armor ?
I’m not even sure if the mounts actually have a mob model, let alone how the mount specific parts of the recipe are obtained.
As for the models a few of them are recolours of the previous shop mount, so the overall quality is fairly decent imo (we have a few recolours for spider, talbuk, snail, frog and the eagle shop mount models iirc, on top of a unique jellyfish)
Indeed, I hope the items stay tradable tho.
We already were baited by the anniversary akama tmog which was listed as BOE yet was actually soulbound…
Interesting. A system that isn’t about gearing or power.
The mats being BOA is a good move, the Mechagon scraps were soulbound which I think was a mistake, I would have preferred doing the Mechagon tinkering on my dwarf engineer but he didn’t have many part but my main had loads of parts.
So they’ve learnt an Alt-Friendliness lesson (or so it seems).
Have they learnt a progreesion speed lesson? Korthia Codex was way too slow. Hopefully this new system will be more fun and less grind.
