I really like most changes, from the Marksman tree, to the Lunar Storm visual change (the bird no longer “poops” on enemies), and the Dark Ranger has improved a lot visual and gameplay wise.
The only change that I don’t really like is the new “Precise Shot” talent in combination with Multi-Shot/Rapid Fire/Trick Shots. It works well with Aimed Shot, because you shoot it, gain a stack of Precise Shot, cast Multi-Shot for half focus (so 15 instead of 30) to consume it, and then you use Aimed Shot again with Trick Shots, and so forth. It flows well.
But it doesn’t flow well with Rapid Fire anymore. Before, we used Multi-Shot, Aimed Shot, gain 2 stacks of Precise Shots. We used one stack for Multi-Shot at half focus for Trick Shots, then combo into Rapid Fire, use the other stack for Multi-Shot at half focus again for Trick Shots, and then proceed into Aimed Shot again.
Now, we use Multi Shot, Aimed Shot, gain only 1 stack of Precise Shot. We use one Stack for Multi-Shot at half focus for Trick Shots, use Rapid Fire, but we no longer have the second Precise Shot to consume for our Multi Shot at half focus, to combo into Trick Shots with Aimed Shot anymore.
My suggestion is either revert it to two stacks, or even better, have Rapid Fire no longer “consume” a stack of Trick Shots. This way, it flows way better in my opinion.
Also, I wonder if the new “Pin Cushion” talent (-2sec Aimed Shot CD) isn’t just way stronger than “Improved Steady Shot” (10 extra focus). Our rotation will be smoother (and faster), but that means we also starve for focus a bit more. It does works well with Sentinel, but Dark Ranger kinda hungers for Focus with all those Black Arrow procs. My suggestion for this, is to make Black Arrow procs to cost no Focus. It seems little, but you save 30 Focus if it procs 3 times in a row.
Sorry for my long explanation, I rather explain in detail than not to be clear. But I really do appreciate the talent changes and especially the Dark Ranger overhaul. Thanks Blizzard!
