A few days ago I felt like a fresh start with WoW and bought a 6-month subscription with a new email address (migrating from my older one).
No problems with payments. Payment appeared as “Complete” on my Recent Purchases.
Two days ago, I received an email stating that brand new, unused account, had been banned due to a violation of Blizzard’s EULA / Terms of Use and In-game policies. There’s no point in me linking these - you’ve probably seen them before from other players who’ve experienced similar issues.
I immediately replied, telling the GM that the account was brand new, and I hadn’t even gotten around to creating a character yet, let alone log in and start playing.
I got the standard (possibly AI generated?) reply, stating that they’d done a proper investigaion but that they were sticking to their decision.
It’s like they didn’t even acknowledge the information I gave them. New account. No activity.
I pursued the matter, and again they repeated the same nonsense.
The account is so new that the payment is still in the “Pending” stage with my bank. So I rerplied and asked for a refund if they were going to block access to a brand new account. I’m not paying £52.14 and not getting anything in return. I got the following reply:-
I’m afraid that we’re unable to refund the World of Warcraft® Subscription - 6 Months due to the recent account action. You can refer to our refund policy here: https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/legal/58e4a812-afd0-4d47-b34d-d4fdf99e41cb/blizzard-refund-policy
If you still have concerns, we kindly suggest you reach out your financial institution or credit issuer for further assistance.
So they’ve banned a brand new account that I’ve not got around to even creating a character on yet, and they won’t refund the payment.
What is wrong with these people?
