New account (no games) closed / banned?

Anyone experienced this before?

A new account I recently created got banned.

I got notified via email with the following message:-

The Battle.net account has violated the Blizzard End User License Agreement. As a result, this Battle.net Account and all associated game accounts have been permanently closed.”

I created a support ticket for clarification, explaining that this was a new account with no games attached to it. It would have been impossible for me to have done anything warranting an account closure.

This was the reply:-

Greetings,

This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies, which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.

I replied by restating that it was a brand new account with no games, and that nothing in the Terms of Use and In-game Policies could apply to me.

This was the reply:-

Regarding your appeal, your account has been permanently closed due to a direct breach of the Terms of Use.

We take these types of issue very seriously, and a full investigation is done before any action taken. In this case we have deemed that the evidence provided is correct and the action will not be overturned.

Please check below for links to our policies and Terms of Use for more information.

What the … ?

Can anyone else shed some light was to what violation I might have done if I don’t have any games on the account?

Hello Zuma!

Through Forums we can’t review penalties applied on accounts, nor can we share any detail or information regarding such actions.

For your information, discussing disciplinary actions in general is also against the Forum Code of Conduct.

Due to the above, I have to confirm that should you wish to appeal further you’ll need to proceed once more via ticket. Please note however that we can not guarantee in any way that you’ll have a different outcome.

Create another ticket and wait several days for the same reply?

I think I’ve wasted enough of my time. I’m done.

I heard rumors there may be other games I can play.

Did you use a fake name? Did you register in a different country to the one you reside in? Were any details fake or incorrect?

There are many reasons why an account could be banned, you don’t just get banned for doing things in a game.

They would have known that if the tickets were reviewed by humans instead of bots and answered with a proper reply.

I have 2 tickets going about an issue myself (with 1 ticket being about the way the ticket is handled) and with the same issue results.

Maybe ip ban, readed somewhere they can ban new accs also that made on banned ip, but id expect that only vs botters.
