New character models

Do better.
Stop being such a glutinous instant-gratification addicted consumer, for the expense of real life artists, that should help you with the content drought.
Do something else in or out of the game, I bet you havent collected anything of the previous expansions too.
Your honor level, your rating, your skill, your proffesions - what have you perfected that you complain of having no content to do?
Content there is.
And one more advice, I suggest you dont use the word “boomer” when you gonna say idiotic things, makes you look like a rude toddler.

you came up first with such word clothing now you apparently feel offended ofc. Don’t expect people to not support ai in places that workers don’t give a f about their work and customers get less for the same money, it’s that simple

We all know Blizzard are allready on this path. Art direction is the last thing that keeps their games afloar with no coherent storylines, hallowed lore, flawed core game mechanics and poor balancing. They did lost that in several decades they enjoyed being world leading gaming company, However in their infinite chase they would love to replace artists as well and when it happens we would see the final drop in quality.

If Microsoft would push AI art as primary source of art direction of WoW and products then they wasted billions spend on Blizzard for nothing. However what I propose is that AI, with human post editing involved to check the work of the algorithm, was handled improving quality of the old models and art. Something well established in 3d or icons, because no one is going to give recources to refresh that old content.

Tauren really could use some new faces.

Log in to Classic Wrath/Era and look at their models. Low res textures were even worse in them because Tauren had multiplier to enlarge their models to look bigger. Completely different approach was taken in 2014 and they have truly bigger and fully animated models. Although I agree, many races have “the same face” problem, humans amongst the strongest case of them all.

AI can fix the headgear-hair issue.
AI can fix the armor is just a skin texture issue.
etc.

There are so many ways to use AI.

all hail skynet.

lots of buzzwords and not a single point

Saying AI is gonna take over the Art industry is like saying the follower dungeons are gonna make m+ obsolete, easy instant low tier gratification from a computer versus hard and rewarding but satisfying gratification from real people.

AI is definitely going to have it own genre but that’s about it, it’ll be it’s own genre, it simply isn’t able to create the same things humans can. It can recreate a imagine SIMILAR to what a human could do but not exactly it.

So TLDR it ain’t that serious, we ain’t about to be overrun by AI unless real skill is behind it (yes there is skill behind creating genuinely good art with proper AI tools). But the people that can properly do it, need enough skill to be called art in my eyes so, art isn’t dying it’s simply evolving to allow new forms in, which it does constantly, so stop crying and you’ll be fine.

Also showing that something offended you in an online argument is like when a game states a critical effective move, people are gonna abuse it, so fair warning is given.

Also Also

This makes you sound like a sigma based male enjoyer, just saying, you gotta break out of the SYSTEM. (This is sarcasm, thought I should let someone like you know. And no, this wasn’t made by AI)

these are not issues.
there are reasons why they are like that, mr.

hahahahahahah what a tool you are.
dont talk to me.
I lack the energy to explain to someone thats clueless and incompetent yet eager to speak on something they got no idea of.
At least make it make sense.

I think the main issue with AI is the lack of legislation surrounding it, and it looks like there is much more awareness of that now. I think if they had started with an option to opt in for living artists/writers/other creatives it would have gone down much better.

The tools are interesting, and will be used. Hopefully we’ll figure out a path for them to be useful without replacing human creativity. For most artists, finances are quite tight already while their products naturally and automatically have far more potential for real innovation, feeling and depth.

Oh no! Anyway…

AI art wouldnt even exist at this scale if they trained the modules legally. Its made illegally, being trained on the intellectual property of others who did not even knew let along consent to their art being used.
Another point is to this day, the different models keep on stealing spewing mashed results of other non-consenting artists work.
Music is not threated that way, why should art be ?
Also imagine if your face has been put in an AI generated “corn” , how is this any different than your artwork being mashed into other things?
Now you need a concept designee, an editor, animator, fine artist, spash artist and so much more. with Ai you need a rigger, a prompter and a editor.
Its not ethical any way i look at it.
Also Art is not just the destination.
Its solves a problem that wasnt there to begin with.
Its like saying “why have segs when you gonna .com 4 secs after?”
It removes the artist from the art and the soul from the piece and all of this sacrifice (peoples workplaces and livinig, expressiom and quite frankly the human soul) and our cognitive abilities (prefrontal cortex is already declining of this instant gratification and lack of processing practice, AI will decline this even more, so Ai is not evolution in terms of art, its devolutionfor) and for what ? for corpos to grand a bunch of addicts even more saturated drug for a quick cash.
You guys should really start using your critical thinking, this is literally wrong on any cognitive level.
Ai is not a tool, its like using a motorbike in horseracing.
A tool in horseracing would be a saddle not an engine.
Which Ai indeed is metaphorically and quite literally- an engine.

Oh and just as we speak Blizzard layed off 22000 emplyees, today.
There seems to be a pattern since this happens every year in every major gamimg company and 2 years ago that happened too.
So payment gets really unreliable with these drug producers, its only up to the consumer to realize this and take a stand which we all know sadly is of low possibility.
So do you understand why i say you shouldnt tolerate Ai?

I have used my critical thinking on this one. I don’t use AI, and its current form I agree it’s unethical. Yet (the development of) automation itself, generally speaking, has been a normal aspect for a few hundred years at least now, I have no illusions this cat will go back in the bag. It will be used to execute parts of the work that humans find tedious.

I come from a family with quite a few artists, I’m aware of how difficult it already is without this aspect. Interestingly enough they were mostly very curious about the AI, and some experimented with it. Not for their work, but simply for curiosity’s sake. They’re not very ‘social media savvy’ so it was only after I explained how the AI had been learning that they stopped.

In that sense I hope and expect better legislation, and protection of artists. Once that is in place I’m actually guessing some artists will happily embrace the medium.

i agree with all od this but calling it a medium?
really?
its like branding myself a chef because i have an automated cake making machine.
its a whole automated process.

From what I’ve seen of artists currently using it is that they use elements of what the AI came up with, add their own work and then go ham in Photoshop

Photography has seen a somewhat similar process in that the programs designed for it have had more and more automated features added to it. This is nice for hobby photographers, but doesn’t stop professional ones from getting the results they specifically want.

No one will stop AI. There is already the first mainstream AI to create 3D models.

People couldn’t stop the first Industrial Revolution and they wont stop new ones, including the AI one.
