Intel released new CPUs, for example the i5-9600KF.
From what i read on the reviews, these new cpus are just broken ones that had the gpu broken, a usual production problem with every line of processors.
What puzzles me is that they are basically seeling CPU’s that are the same then previous 9th generation, without the gpu, at a higher price!
Basically, Intel found a way to sell, that percentage of cpus that come out broken from the assembly line and do it selling them at a higher price.
Im very curious to see if they sell.
In my country they are a staggering 50 euros above the the same 9th generation cpu, while not having the gpu.
nah. it’s intel making a product for them, not for us. they could be interesting products if they were priced lower than the regular K models, but since they’re the same price or sometimes even higher as you’re describing there’s no reason to buy them that i’m aware of.
Still rocking my i5-3570k from 2012 Thrashes everything even more demanding games and not even overclocked yet.
I did need to upgrade my ram from 8 to 16GB though and GTX 670 2GB, for a Asus Strix Advanced 1070 Ti 8GB.
Not much point in upgrading more with an almost 8yr old motherboard and would bottleneck the cpu anyway to go any further.
If I ever do build another PC I will probably say goodbye to Intel and switch to AMD for more cores and cheaper, Intel not been worth it for a long time now.
Not really, Intel released the new CPUs at the same price as the old ones, retailers slapped their tax on top of that and that’s where the difference came from (they want to clear the old stock and not have the new one hamper the sales obviously).
So in the end it boils down to a chain of greedy corporations and profit.
Looking ahead couldn’t say for sure it will stay this way as times change, but from my experience over the last few years the CPU can be reletively futureproof if its a decent one, whereas the GPU seems to move much quicker and fall behind much quicker, I think my last CPU had 3 different graphics cards over its lifespan.
