Hello, I recently received an email that my billing currency will change from EUR to CZK. Now that is all fine, but there was one part of the email that made me confused:
“If you have an active or paused World of Warcraft® subscription, your current subscription will not be affected and will continue to be billed in CZK until cancelled. Any subscriptions set up after the currency change will use your new transaction currency.”
Either my current subscription WILL BE affected, and it will change from EUR to CZK, or it won’t be affected and will continue to be billed in EUR. So… which one is it?
If you have a subscription it won’t change, if you stop it and restart it then it will change. It’s really obvious.
Well, you say it’s obvious, but they are contradicting themselves there… They say the current subscription will “continue to be billed in CZK”. But CZK is the new currency, not the current one (EUR)…
The key word is “continued”, so whatever currency you pay in now will continue until it’s cancelled. I think they put the wrong currency in the email.
Yes, I agree that it is most likely just an error in the currency they put there, I just wanted to be sure. I am paying a yearly subscription, and if they’ll bill me in CZK from my EUR card, there will be horrendous exchange rate.
Hi there Khazran,
Indeed that would have been an error and your billed currency won’t change until you create a new subscription.
Apologies for the confusion!
