It’s very evident what the HE fans want in that regard, which is why I didn’t bother writing any at risk of just repeating it. Also, my personal feelings regarding that amount to, to quote Futurama, “I have no strong feelings one way or the other.”
I just wanted to bring in some ideas for BE and VE without it being turned into something HE related, given the thread title. I was just focusing on the voidy aspects because there are far fewer of those ideas in the thread currently.
Everyone, so I did a little “experiment” I checked the preview pictures from the void elves where they showed them with the pale skin options. One of the males had black hair. And I checked the new hair colors which blood elves are getting. The black hair color one was the exact same as the one from the void elf with the darkest skin tone showed in the preview. And I know that some female npc’s have the black hair option but that wasn’t the same color. The one which the npc’s had was much darker, the one in the preview was lighter just like the blood elf one. I actually had a bit of problem with the blood elf hairstyles because they are different so they have a different lighting to them, but in the end I found one that matched the void elf hairstyle to an extent and I can confirm the new black hair option which blood elves are getting is the same black hair option as the void elf showed in the preview. So I think void elves will indeed get the blood elf hair colors.
Hmmm… it looked like that to start with, but I think they have made some changes to the options, and now the blind eyes can only be chosen in combination with scarring of some sort.
Unless there is actual proof of them adding the hair colors to beta, we can’t make assumptions and guess that they will be added.
Black hair being added kinda makes sense. Along with the (Darker) skin tones given to both Blood elves and Void elves for diversity reasons, it would make sense to add black hair. Especially since it was a high demand for the Void elves (Because it looks great on both Void skin and natural skin)
Wether or not more natural hair colors will be added is still a mystery, and I doubt it will happen unless Blizzard proves otherwise.
Personally, I kinda view this as a half-measure. The damage was done when the “Void Elves” were originally introduced. It kind of spelled the end of the High Elf dream.
What we get now are Void Elves that sort of look like High Elves, but they will still have distorted speech and they’ll still flare up like the Cthulu-spawn that they are. High Elves don’t do that.
It’s not nice to use the “Ion arguments” for people who have been asking for this stuff for 15 years and even have a Discord dedicated towards it and many fan arts. You could’ve easily used a more kinder approach to the situation. Say I disagree because of (example).
And I think she’s talking about the Quel’dorei who still call themselves high elves and have a different voice emote than the blood elf NPC’s.
I personally went around Azeroth and counted how many of these High elves there are around Azeroth. However I may have missed a few places.
Old Dalaran: about 55
Ice crown: about 26
Party Boat thousand needles: about 22
Quel’Danil: 13
Allerian Stronghold: 12
Thunder, Pandaria: 9
Stormwind: +6
Suramar: +4 (Silver covenant)
Telogrus: +3
Hunter Artifact room: 2
Mage Artifact room: ?
Theramore: 1
Ghostlands: 1 (Alleria’s High elf Ranger)
Boralus: 1
Eastern Plaguelands: about 1
You know very well that when she says “High elves” she’s talking about the High elves, not the Blood elves who renamed themselves. So I don’t know why your acting like you don’t know what she means.
That’s kind of the issue with this “race” though. If going by in-game time it hasn’t been enough time for this “race” to produce a second generation yet. The difference between Void Elves and all the other races is that the other races actually had the background lore to justify their existence. At least, that’s the case with the core races. They’re all interesting and they all have their place in the world.
The High Elves had a case for being a playable race, and had it not been due to the demand of having a cute race for the Horde we might actually have seen the Alliance High Elves rather than the Horde Blood Elves.
The High Elves kinda are to the Blood Elves what the Dark Iron Dwarves are to the Dwarves and the Mag’har Orcs are to the Orcs; except they’re loyal to the Alliance which makes them more interesting than these aforementioned races. Dark Iron Dwarves and Mag’har Orcs could easily have been customization options to the already existing races.
However, I’m a cynic. They introduced playable races because they knew it would generate that $$$ on people spending real money to have their characters changed.
lol there is probably gonna be so many of that in Shadowlands. Like people paying for a Race change because (X) race is getting cooler customization.
I’m probably going to change my Druid to a Night elf.
And I already boosted a Void elf Hunter knowing they are getting Natural skin. Although I personally don’t care for the natural hair colors, it was only the skin that bothered me about Void elves. Because the Void elf males have a very dark blue hands with veins popping out, very nasty And doesn’t look good (in my opinion).
