For some reason, a fire mage dealt 200k dps in the opener while Ignite was ticking with 176k dmg. Is there a new exploit? I mean as Ignite deals a percentage of your dmg as dot, it shouldn’t mathematically be possible to have 67% of your dmg as ignite, ticking harder than the spells themselves
Exploiting
I was wondering how a fire mage in a game I was in was doing so much damage with ignite, it shouldn’t be mathematically possible for it to be as high as it is.
Like, checking the dps:
How is ignite doing 21.5k over the course of the game when the rest of his abilities are doing 26k all added together? I kept dispelling it when I noticed it was getting high but wth. Would it have gone even higher if I didn’t dispel it or what. I was dispelling it when I noticed it started reaching 70-80k ticks.
Hey, i met that mage too!
Ignite was ticking 170k too, my mage was literally globaled and was left in total confusion.
The one from my game had a different name. We actually faced him twice and he only managed to do this in the first game. The second game we won and he did the same total dmg with ignite but in a timespan of 4.5 minutes while in the first one it was during 40 seconds lol.
To me this seems more like a bug that happens randomly
Oh well. Funny enough it was the same for us. He did that in the first game and the second game we won and he did normal damage.
i bet its a scale bug again, like maybe he hits a mob prior to arena which then holds the damage like Warlocks were doing in DF s1
wouldnt surprise me if its some dodgey Fire proc trinket that scales with their mastery and procs ignite
Were same kind of exploit as a very few SPs did apparently with Catharsis >_> Its amazing these kinds of things keeps slipping in lol
I don’t think it’s an exploit. I think it’s a hotfix to the spell “Glass Cannon” that was recently meant to bring in a 100% damage increase to Ignite at a 15% hp reduction. I just think Blizzard have got the % amplifiers way off. The mage that’s been shown in the screenshot and every mage I’ve seen is playing this pvp talent. Not sure what they were thinking when they added a 100% dot damage increase that has multipliers on its own.
if they got some percentages wrong it would happen consistantly no? It seems like it’s happening randomly
Archvaldor is behind this!
Player versus Player
Classes Mage Fire Fixed a bug that caused Ignite to deal increased damage when spread while using the Glass Cannon PvP Talent.
Is this even live yet? It seems it’s still doing an absurd amount of damage if you don’t dispel it. Like, a fire mage in a shuffle had 43k of his 63k dps coming from ignite.
