Hiya guys,
So i got a new PC yesterday, left everything installing and will get to have a play tonight on it. Just curious if anyone can tell if it can run on max settings
So its got a geforce RTX 4060 graphics card, 16gb ram (which i will upgrade) and a i5 12th gen cpu
Any opinions will be much appreciated
My last rig couldnt run many games on decent graphics… on wow i think i had graphics set to 3 and still had fps issues
yeah you should be able to do it.
I’ve got a 4070TI and I can’t even run on max settings, I can outdoors but not in bgs or raids.
AMD processors would have been better but I went with intel
Im running a 12gen I5 12400f with a rtx 3060 12gb and 32 GB @3200 MT/s ram and i have no problems running at ultra settings, but i do have my fps capped at 60 and i have shader cache set at unlimited…
No point running more than 60fps… this isnt a competitive first person shooter lol
As its a new pc make sure you go into your BIOS and check that the XMP profile is on otherwise your RAM will be running slower than its rated for
I’ve a 12th gen i9, 32gb ram and 3080ti
It’s a few years old now but it’s no slouch.
I can fire it up to max but I need to tinker with some bits and bobs to stop it slowing down from time to time
It will be fine in the open world but I’d reduce it for Raids and BGs, luckily you can toggle them to run on a different group of graphical options.
People with the latest cpu/gpu combos have stuttering and fps drops in wow. Its not really up to hardware if you can run this game. Your rig will run the game as well as anyone elses tho. Hardware for wow is bit hard to say what would be good when the game has run with these type stutters since df for any number of hardware people keep reporting these issues with
Saw this in thread with high end cpu/gpu someone demonstrating mild stuttering flying around dornogal forge and such from over week ago, its from mild end yet. I see tiny hic up and game spiking everytime I press icy veins on my mage and its pretty annoying.
I see the game is yo-yoing and doing weird dips with gpu utilization to 13% gpu on those hic ups and cpu utilization staying around 24%. Its the game. Not peoples hardwares. You can put 4k euros on pc and the game would run bad.
I get similar dips when I’m doing a world boss and people are joining the raid, each time someone joins a dip happens then suddenly goes back to normal.
WoW isn’t very demanding. Also it depends where you want to run at max. It’ll be harder in capitals and raids.
Easier when you’re flying around alone.
I play on an ‘‘ancient’’ Ryzen 5 2600/RTX 2060S and I’m still getting decent performance at 1080p.
Yeah theres been strange micro stuttering with the game since the release of df, its not improved yet. The one related to frost mage icy veins, either the ability or the talent proc for it creates strange 0.5sec noticeable spike too.
I’m running an i5 12400F & RTX 4060Ti 16GB & WoW runs fine on Ultra Settings.
No matter what you’re running, you will always get a drop in fps when in a raid.
Depends on what FPS and resolution you are aiming for and if you wanna use raytracing. If you are going for 1080p RT off. You will be fine on max setting. Maybe in RAID you will have some drops.
Thanks for responses guys… so i managed to have a play last night and i am capped at 30fps if i have vsync on, goes 60+fps without vsync but the screen crops/lags occasionally (sorry dont know the term) i imagine this is to do with the resolution. I am using a 4k tv as i currently dont have a dedicated monitor but tbh im happy having vsync on. Dont think i need over 30fps personally.
