New glyphs or forms for Balance form

Recently we have gotten more Druid forms that we can choose at the barber, and we received Druid forms back in Legion, which is just absolutely AMAZING!

But I still can’t help but feel that Boomie has been neglected quite a bit in this process…

I have played Druid since WoD, and still to this day playing Boomie is an internal struggle since it is so much fun to play, but it has SOOOO bad visuals. The model update we received in Legion is gladly appreciated, but it felt like a terrible looking car getting a new paint job.

Atm we either have the choice of playing as a big chicken or we can get the Glyph of Stars, which looks EXTREMELY “artificial”. I know it’s a subjective opinion and that some people really love the existing Boomie forms, but from what I have gathered A LOT of people agree that it’s a choice between “bad and worse”.

I can’t help but laugh a bit over the fact that we have received all these new Travel Forms (which again is greatly appreciated), but the ONE SPEC that literally has the WORST Druid forms, STILL hasn’t gotten anything. :joy:

Alternatively, making the Glyph of Stars look less artificial would be a LEAP forward. By that I mean keeping the falling stars, but remove the blue color completely and make it less transparent (or remove the transparency completely). :slightly_smiling_face:

That glyph is ugly, we basically look like a smurf. The glyph should be removed and we should be able to have a form or just ‘stay regular’ so we can show off our transmog.

I totally agree, I would much rather just see my character like when in Resto spec.

It won’t happen though since the Moonkin form gives us a buff, and other players need to be able to tell if we are in Moonkin form in PvP. So there has to be some kind of “visual indicator”.

I would love to see this for Cat and Bear form as well.
One could imagine a spinning “paw” symbol around the character to illustrate what form we are currently in, similar to the defensive stance of a warrior.

Top things that make me NOT want to play Feral Druid are for example:

  • Not having any use for my mounts (although I love the fast shapeshift + herbing)
  • Not having any use of my transmogs
  • Really weak and bad AoE / cleave rotation in addition to energy cost / regen

It’s a fine border when it comes to wishing for visual changes to a class, that might go against it’s class fantasy.

It’s just my opinion, but I think what you are wishing for would completely remove the Druid identity. Druids ARE shapeshifters, and removing that completely through Glyphs is crossing a border that would give the impression that class identity should just be completely removed from the game.

Guardian and Feral have their entire spec identities revolving around the fact that they are those animals, and even mechanically their spells doesn’t work outside the animal forms. Plus, it would confuse the heck out of people in PvP if Ferals were allowed to not look like Ferals hehe.

Balance is different. Balance spells do work outside Moonkin form, and lore wise can receive visual changes and it could still make sense. Like giving giving it fresh Balance forms, or simply dial down the color of the Glyph of Stars.

You are right, it’s probably not a feasible thing to change. Still, it kind of sucks that I keep on looking the same in my Cat form no matter how many transmogs I grind in Korthia etc.
