NEW IDEA: daily subscription plan?

I would like to opt out on the days when my covenant zone suffers massive delay lags that blizzard avoids approaching and solving. I do not want to pay the same rate when I am getting sub par service worth of some early access mmo where people say “it’s early access, they will surely optimize/fix/update this and that later on”

This idea is not new at all and it was proven million times why it was bad.

They used to have that in China IIRC where you would pay for the time you effectively played but dropped it again after a while.

bad for customer to avoid headache or bad for Bobby’s metrics?

I’m not happy with the lagfests that happen every week and everybody else just passively accepted it and shrugs like “it’s 2021, did you expect no lags?”

Blizzard: We changed our subscription plans, you will now pay based on a daily or hourly basis. Next up you’ll only pay whatever you use on a second basis.
Players: awaiting in Oribos to get accepted in a +2

It’s not new. It is bad.

You think you do, but you actually don’t. In the end it’s most likely that you’ll be paying more.

Yeap look at Pay TV (mainly Sport - a day pass is often a 33%-50% of a monthly pass) . Unless you literally played 2 days a month it would be more expensive.

how does that work.
split what you pay now by 30 and that’d be the daily rate.

Nope the world doesn’t work like that.
One example and there are many

£9.98 for a DAY
£33.99 for a MONTH

Another

Nordvpn, I could go on (year and month this time)
2 Year £2.74 per month
1 Year £3.64 a month
One Month £8.84

are you the speaker of the world then?

the fact daily rate is big part of monthly rate is just a business model setting. not universal law. on gas station you pay only how much gas you tank, not your monthly consumption, despite you drive daily.

Find me a daily rate (of a subscription service) that is a 30th of the monthly. Please I’ll wait.

Yes, but then you need to add transaction fees. Now you pay those once a month or once every six months. With your suggestion you’ll have to pay them every day.

Btw, this is why some charities put a minimum pledge of like $1, because that $1 just covers the transaction fee, and basically when you make low donations like that, you’re donating to a bank lmao. Humble Bundle talked about how with their old model, players donating $0.01 to get the games were actually costing them money because of the transaction fees.

With businesses all taxes are offloaded to the customer. Customers don’t actually have to pay VAT. VAT should be paid by the business. But businesses offload VAT as a tax on customers. So to pay daily you’ll have to pay multiple transaction fees every month.

If there were to be a dayli sub plan, then they would find ways for players to pay even more.

Prune it!

No, because you are naive thinking it would be in your benefit.
With a daily or hourly rate companies will milk you even harder for cash.

Do like others: monthly, and if the service has not been up to your standards-> cancel your subscription.

Just no
Chars

weird how most of people here is totally fine with paying much more than the real daily rate is and never questioning it.

I’m talking about situation if daily rate was monthly/30 days.

Not about situation when daily rate was some blown up random business number to look bad so you’re forced to go full month because it’s cheaper in the long term.

I can’t see Activision Blizzard ever come up with the same daily rate you are thinking of.
I mean sure in your mind, it works… but that would never be reality.

You know, one doesn’t really have to have such a system. We saw in the early days (back in the Vivendi era) that Blizzard gave compensation days when the service was disrupted. I always saw it as a positive, until the higher ups decided to cancel it.

it would not be a shocker if it was done by other company but when you mention Blizzard did this… whoa.

That one is AAA customer treatment.

why do people defend when blizz customer treatment slid down to meh from their own ways.

Like boiled frogs.

Wow is just fine as it is honestly. I would 100% have the game stay subscription only rather than going f2p and introducing all micro transaction crap that comes with. Store mounts and level boosts are far enough. The game does not need any more added. I would quit wow instantly if I saw them adding weekly stuff to the shop.
