Killed? No no no no, they have maimed, they have disabled lower m+ players.
It is not dead, I would rather see its dead than trying to breathe. It exist, but barely with toxic, reckless piece of manures who are tend to be triggered if something is not as they want and leave in any damn minute, even it is your key. Because there is no repressive action against them. It’s not even just lower keys, +8 and above is same manure different kind of players.
I just want to get to 2000-2500 rating in every seasons. Get title and mount if I can, but not so commited to either of them. I’ve been playing since SL (no idea how it was before) and I have always managed to hit at least 2500 and 3000 rio max. but never struggled to hit “even 2000” before TWW S1. Current state of M+ is bullmanure…
My key dropped 4 levels because of leavers, today. You gotta be chittin’ me! Those poptards probably immediately started to q up for other keys, ruin other people’s keys as it is so easy to leave. Why would I care someone else’s key.
First time in years, even though I still have a year active on my sub, I am considering to leave this game because of game-related issues. I will probably see my sub run out, decay slowly in this year.
Thanks “Activision Blizzard”, thanks “Microsoft”, Kuck you Fotick.
Side note: I have no irl friend groups, no in-game friends groups to make pre-made runs, I do play with guildies sometimes but usually just pugging my way. So, what I mention above only a mirror of my pugging experiences.
If thats what you took away from all that I said then its a lost cause for me to go further as you mentioning things I didn’t even say or elude to.
M+ as it stands is a bad system. Just because you or I can get the gear we want from it doesn’t make it any less of a toxic system for the game and the bigger audience that play this game (for both player progression and community).
There are better reward structures. There are better ways to do mechanics, other than a timer (for example). There are better ways to handle the lower end players, there are better ways to handle the high end players.
There might be, but I yet to see a good solution being proposed here.
There’s a lot of whining going on without taking a look at the root cause of the problems. Your “fixes” don’t address them, just put a bandaid over the crack in the structure.
I think rewards are good item-wise, but ofc end-dungeon gold etc. can be way higher than it is when we consider how much of a gold sink is repair alone. Add flasks, pots and rune to that. Not all of these are mandatory for sure but it is clear that they can help a lot. So people tend to buy but they pretty pretty expensive. So, if you are only interested in M+ aspect of the game, it is actually punishing you when you consider everything after a run.
The biggest problem tho, in my humble opinion, is the leavers. It’s way worse than it has ever been. Some say it is because -15s penalty, some say dungeons are way higher than before etc. but I think the problem is how toxic people are, and the attitude in general.
I think, as a deterrent measure to stop key leaving, a community level can be integrated. Like in OW, if you are a constant leaver, than you’ll be suspended for dungeons for a small period of time and your community score will drop to the lowest level. Let’s say 1 to 5 is our range, 1 is worse obviously and 5 is better. If I am going to invite someone to my key, at least I can estimate what should I expect from a person with 1 community score.
I mean I’ve seen higher rio leavers as much as lower ones. Yeah there is correlation between high RIO and less toxicity for sure, but not certain and accurate all the time.
For you maybe, fortunately your opinion does not reflect the playerbase. I think at this point it’s important to make a distinction here.
Also m+ without a timer would become a delve, which is the most boring content I ever did. Player ideas regarding this usually solves 1 problem while introducing 10 bigger ones.
There a number of issues. For example, trinkets. People complain how farming the trinket BiS trinket takes forever and it is killing their will to do M+.
But the root issue is not the drop rate, but the fact that Blizz designs some trinkets as total garbage and some as God mode.
If we made sure that trinkets of equal item level actually perform equally, then I don’t think people would complain about BiS trinket farming.
It’s gotten to a point, where I am contemplating to quit for the season, even if I am lucky enough to play with 4 friends, that I have played M+ with since Legion, and I even have 3-4 months left of my subscription.
The dungeons aren’t fun, the gear progression is trash, and the sudden spikes in scaling when certain affixes kick in makes it feel like your keystone went up by 2-3 levels instead of one.
Our main group usually times +9 keys now with a few minutes left, but the +10 keys is such a leap up it turns into depletes. So we are stuck either farming crests on low keys to slowly upgrade hero track gear, or hoping for myth track upgrades from vault. None of this is fun. It feels more like a chore, than a fun hobby. Suffering for breadcrumbs isn’t my idea of a good time.
Casual players get stuck in the 2-6 bracket (or they just quit and do delves), semi-serious players get stuck timing +9 and depleting +10s, and all the serious key pushers seem to be stuck at +11, unable to transition into +12. Only players who seem to be doing fine are the top 1% doing +14-15 keys.
Blizzard should re-do all the affixes, but I am doubtfull they can manage to do that mid-season. And with the MDI right arrund the corner they will do squat… AGAIN…
IMO what they have to do is nerf all dungeon damage by a flat 30% to 40%. This would effectively remove the key level squish. And gear alone will smooth out those tough increments in difficulty.
Downside is that everyone will now be playing at keys 12+ and above. Which is not cool with some people that expect some sort of reward for completing keys. But I am personally OK having a couple of whiners on the forums.
not sure how they are not tried a single one, well reason playing wrong spec none wants me for anything lol.
and from what i heard from others is that if you play a less popular spec or class, you can literaly just not bother with the keys, not in pugs, you have to have your own group or hope someone joins your key and stays, becuse if they notice your so wrong class or spec, they wont stay anyways.
I think dungeon difficulty is good. Maybe not the best but good. The problem is something different, however, it isn’t even worth discussing here. People can not stand arguments other than they are entitled to.
If you complain about M+, provide some problems from your perspective and make suggestions you’ll see:
Do your key
Get good
No one has to invite you
etc.
If you oppose people who complain about the M+ situation and say that you are kind of ok with how it is now, you’ll get:
You are elitist
Ok, could you show me your RIO?
It must be fun to run with a stacked group and get carried lol
etc.
No one wants to hear someone else’s point of view and get into a civilized discussion. All you are looking for is to be supported with your ideas and humiliate the rest.
Me?
I enjoy my “Declined” Sim. It is a great game within World of Warcraft. I push the ranks of being declined.
