New mage tower style class challenges

In my opinion the mage tower was a fantastic addition too the game, it kept me playing for weeks in legion and I managed complete All the tank challenges and half the DPS challenges.

I’m not asking to make the appearances from legion availiable again as it would essentially devalue all mage tower apperances.

I would like to see some new scenarios in the same style challenging solo content with a cosmetic reward.

Personnally I would like to see some changes form legions mage tower:
• Balance of challenges needs to be improved the difference in challenge between the bloodtotem challenge and the twins challenge for affliction warlocks was insane I never got lucky enough the get the legendary ring for the slow and this challenge took me 500+ attempts at 895 to complete.

• give everyone a standard set of gear and possibly a set of talents although this second part I’m unsure about.
There is no point having these fantastic scenarios and allowing people to outgear them and defeating all challenge for example the first time I did the imp mother challenge was as my feral Druid and at 960 I level my opening burst forced the boss into transition before a second set of adds completely nullifying the intended design of the fight.

• Make the healing challenge shorter compared to the tank challenge taking roughly 4-7 mins with good dps it was absurd 15-20 mins per attempt

You’re being selfish here. There are People out there who just aren’t that good and outgearing the content is most of the time all they can do. And before you say that these people don’t have a right to get it then, it’s just a cosmetic reward. No harm if an LFR only Raider gets it by outgearing it bc it won’t boost his dmg in any way.

Besides that, i am all in for this challenge to come back and i think they said that it came over really well and they are definitely considering bringing it back in some way

I agree there is also no harm that I as a casual player get to one shot everything in mythic and get all the titles and stuff, I mean it won’t hurt anybody and at the same time I’m a paying CuStOmEr! I deserve this :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I was hoping for an extension of the class hall and story this expansion and a trial by combat feature would have fitted in well and took the place of mage tower challenge. Let’s see what future patches will bring

And then Blizzard would need to dumb the encounter down so even farmer bob can get it with that item level instead of having them outgear it over time automatically.

No thank you, i rather have it the old way and still do it on day 1 as a personal achiv but at least i would have to pay attention then.

Getting Mythic Raid gear from LFR or whatnot, basically for free, is a completely different topic that i don’t agree with at all. Gear is way too easy to obtain nowadays and lost all its meaning. A cosmetic reward like this however should also be available for not so skilled Players.

The thing is, all content and rewards can be out geared. But does it have to be all content/rewards? Wouldn’t 95% of rewards being accessible through outgearing be enough?

i think next time it would be better if we would get not transmog but skill cosmetics for the classes like the fel fire for warlock back in pandaria. would make me more interested than a weapon skin tbh :wink:

They may add something much later in the expansion. It was a late addition to the game in Legion.
