Asmo can taunt me in any way, but the biggest mistake is called Gameforge. The game is not even launched and they already made it fail with 2.0 skipping one of the best contents from 1.0 until 2.0 and no one knows why they do it. I have a group of friends with which I played Aion since 2012 until around 2014. They all wanted to return but were baffled from the 2.0 situation. They said they won’t play. In this case I won’t be able to pvp you there.
I don’t know why people have to band ‘WoW killer’ about. The only thing that will ever kill WoW is Blizzard themselves.

Nah, its already clear no other game will be a WoW killer. There is no need for that because blizzard is great at ruining their own games and reputation. Just look at how they go out of their way just to make older existing games worse. Warcraft 3 reforged and overwatch 2 for example. Actively making the game worse while the older version is gone forever.
NA/EU started with 1.5 . I was there day 1. One of the best experience in Aion is from 1.5 to 2.0 . True.
I wanted to try Aion Classic on NcSoft servers, but the …P2W candies were a big turn off for me.
Gameforge is also worst than NcSoft so I won’t try it.
Pitty, because I really enjoyed Aion back in the days.

Candies and inaccessible siege/dred times. I can’t play on NA because of this. Together with me, a huge crowd of people were waiting for Gameforge to launch it in EU so we can have the time of our lives. Then they announced it. Everyone was like: “what???” 2.0 means extremely fast leveling and my friends said “Everyone will just sit in Ingisson and that’s it. We’re not going to play this bs.” Mind that they are people who have money. P2W is not an issue for them. 2.0 is the issue. I am totally baffled at Gameforge why they are doing this. Literally ruining the game. Meanwhile Korea is improving Classic with new classes, new content… Very weird situation we are in. Aion Classic could be a WoW competitor, if GF and Ncsoft did it right.

After almost 20 years, it’s pretty safe to say wow will not be killed, it will die of old age, happy and surrounded by its loved ones.
Can gamers please for the love of god and eternity stop bringing up that “Is game X going to kill game Y” nonsense? It’s so annoying and always false.
