id make both wifes farm it, in 12 h shifts. presuambly, some of teh kids are of a game-able age - u cant do everything , now can u? potentially 3, maybe 4 lill farmhands in the bunch? now, what was that about a mistress?
i think Blizzard was pretty mean to alot of the dadgamers that didnt farm gold every free stint they had, to, on the day before patching, raise the price of a mount by almost 200% after “promising” it was 36g for the entire while SoD has been out.
its just rotten, tbh.
and that sort of stupid gatekeeping does lead ppl to buy a tiny bit of RMT just to get by.
I’m problably one with the most unfriendly working hours (7 days in row before rest day, i work on saturday and sunday, 2 shifts) and I am not complaining.
Damn, it’s crazy the amount of people that don’t get sarcasm while also not reading stuff.
So to complete that post of mine that you quoted:
“/S”
There.
Also, just to clarify, since apparently that is still not clear to some people: that post was meant to imply that increasing the mount costs will increase the incentive to buy gold.
And yes, you didn’t buy gold in 2006, I didn’t, and I’m willing to guess very few people did back then. But that issue has increased more and more as time went by, to the point where now literally EVERYONE is aware of that issue, which led to, among other things, blizz banning gdkp’s in SoD.
All of this added to the fact that SoD is meant to be a more casual take on WoW means that making it as grindy as it was back then decreases the “casual” part of it. Grinding isn’t casual, and it’s also a reason many people stopped playing retail (myself included).
And although many players still farm stuff on a regular basis (like myself, as I said in another post, if you would care to read it), it doesn’t change the fact that many people will opt to break ToS and buy gold to make up for that grindy part which they don’t want to do.
Well, if you’ve been playing for 3 months on just one char, I would be surprised if you DIDN’T have the gold yet xD
You’re forgetting that you got stuck at level 25 earning level 60 gold from quests, as well.
You should take into consideration that in regular Classic you would not stop levelling when you reached lvl 25 (I mean, you could I suppose) and thus you would likely have the gold that you have now at a much higher level (potentially higher than level 40, as was often the case in regular Classic).
Now take my scenario, where I have 7 chars at lvl 25. I do have gold for the mounts on all of them, but my job often allows me to play WoW while “working” and being the addict that I am, that means I play for several hours a day. I also don’t mind farming stuff, so long as I find the process enjoyable, and so I have an “easier than average” time at dealing with that issue.
But there is no denying that many people WILL see it as a bigger issue, potentially to the point of breaking ToS and actually buying gold.
All I’m saying here is that by increasing mount costs, the incentive increases too. And that is factual, I’m afraid.
So? This is SOD, not SOM or ERA. Usually on vanilla servers, I buy mounts around 43–44 levels. Now it will be much easier for everyone.
People who are buying gold will buy it anyway. They will buy it for every other thing they will need.
Removing needs for gold because of gold buyers is like a removing prices from goods because of shoplifters.
There are also people who will see a sign saying “Do not cross” and cross anyway, so that goes for everything.
I find stuff like soda not having been banned after buying gold on stream to be a million times more impactful than a random forum sarcastic post that some may not understand to be sarcasm.
Have you heard of poe’s law?
Unless your plan is to get those kinds of responses make sure you are really clear about what you are doing, tone dose not exist in text.
I do now, silly me, thinking that something as ridiculous as that post of mine would actually be understood by everyone.
Will make sure to use /s from now on, even when I say ridiculous stuff like what I did there.
First of all, y’all gotta stop calling it a 100g mount. By level 40 you should be honored (unless you skipped doing quests or smth) which knocks down the price by 10g. Then the price drops with 10g again if you reach rank 3, which is extremely easy to get, even more so at level 40. So in reality the mount costs 80-90g instead of 100g.
Then to add to that, at level 40 cap you will earn a lot of money from qs anyways, so even if you are broke you will be able to get the mount pretty fast.
While I do agree that it kinda sucks that they just increased the price without any prior warning, people are making this a bigger problem than it really is.
its not a problem for active players with +4h/day of play - but for the majority of casual 3h/week players, it IS a problem. they level on quests, and buy ugrades using gold they make. land at 40 and have 31 g or smthn left. they have 2 options, at that point - run all over for a week or 3 to do other quests, or start doing the fun stuff, and just buy some RMT.
So they changed the 40 gold amount to 100 again? yikes well here we go again blizz now people need to buy gold again wow token is the answer i can feel it
