Just wanted to point nvidias new sli mode now works with dx12, i’am now getting up to 96 percent gpu usage on both gpu’s and quite big fps boost.
It can be forced on in nvidia inspector follow this guide: /wccftech.com/multi-gpu-checkerboard-rendering-silently-added-by-nvidia/.
it may only work on turing gpus btw.
What are your 1% and 0.1% low FPS? SLI without native fullscreen in dx11 mode tends to add lot of stutter while average fps increases.
i have absolutley zero stutter, running 2x 2080ti aorus extreme waterforce, i9 7940x.
Will have to setup msi afterburner for the stats.
Two 2080 Ti? Are you running at 16K? 
can run 8k dsr no problem.
