Hello,
I’m new around here. Can anyone recommend a good realm for a beginner like me?
I was thinking of choosing one of the recommended ones in blue. What advice do you give me?
Thanks!

Welcome!
It depends on a couple of things:
You should choose a realm that is dominated by the faction you intend to play. Some realms are nearly all Alliance; others nearly all Horde.
You can see the population and faction of each realm here:
https://raider.io/realms/eu
Now, the more you want competitive availability, the bigger the realm you want.
BUT there is a penalty on the very biggest realms. The very biggest realms are inclined to get overloaded and start lagging, or even sometimes crash at thebuisiest times, especially whan a new expansion has just been launched, for the first week or two every two years.
This happens to Silvermoon (Alliance) and Draenor (Horde). And to a lesser extent to Tarren Mill/Dentarg and Kazzak and Twisting Nether (all Horde).
However, the advantages of being on a really busy server, especilly for competitive players, are big enough that most people go to them anyway, and just complain at the start of a new expanion or patch when the activity causes lag. I play on Silvermoon with some of my Alliance characters and Draenor for my Horde characters, and don’t find it too bad.
So, if you are playing Alliance, I’d recommend Silvermoon if you like the busiest server, or Ravencrest if not.
In the same vein, go Draenor for max activity, or Twisting Nether.
But check out that list for yourself, and feel feet to ask around or google around for people’s opinions.
Thanks for the answer!
I’m a casual player and I want to play Alliance. Following your advice, I’ll choose Ravenclaw.
