New player: Shadowlands expansion and then unlocking nightborne

Hello everyone,

I would like a concrete walkthrough to unlock nightborne.
Just started to play in shadowlands and i have absolutely no idea how to get the achievement Insurrection.
In Dalaran Khadgar does not appear with the quest, when entering Suramar it does not become obvious where to get the quest or to get the quest…
So i am desperate, please help…

Hi Enygma,

First off, the most comprehensive guide for once you unlocked the Suramar questline(s) that is still up to date is the “Comprehensive Suramar” guide on wowhead:

The main storline is called out there, but there is a section about unlocking the Nightborne specifically which might help further (direct link here).

If youre having trouble kicking the quest chain off, there is one main gateway quest you have to complete which keeps most of Legion endgame content from progressing:

  • The quest is called “Uniting the Isles” and requires friendly rep with the original 4 factions of the Broken Isles. It unlocks worldquests and can be acquired from Khadgar in Dalaran. Once that quest is done, the Suramar quest chain (starting with “Khadgar’s Discovery”) should become available for you, from which point on, you should be able to follow along with the guide above.

Also as a quick sidenote: It sounds like you already know this, but just for completion’s sake, make sure you’re in the correct version of Dalaran in the Broken Isles. There is another version of Dalaran (often referred to as Northrend Dalaran) which is outdated.
