Seems like a decent amount of effort went into the new portal rooms and by extension the new portal models. Did no one in the dev team think to translate the new models over to Mage portals?

That would be cool if Mage would actually make real portal, something like Warlock’s, but bigger one and you are ported by walking through it instead of clicking. Give us Arcane Gates!

Is it really just me or does nobody else playing mage suddenly feel even more useless?
Gone are the days where someone wants to pay for 1 click of a button while you just afk in your capital.
I don’t know why do you feel like that because there are even less portals for everyone than before…
There were more portals in orgrimmar before than there are now?
thats an honest question, i have no clue because i play a mage.
Its the portals they removed from shrine and dala. There’s no portals to Shrine anywhere in game except ours and our portal to swamp is the closest you can get to Kara I think. Is the undercity portal still up where the ship used to be?
Edit: And the portal to legion content puts you in Ashara instead of Dala too
As far as I can tell you’re right on Shrine, the second fastest way to get there is using the MoP challenge mode teleport Path of the Mogu King, but that’s on an 8 hour CD and no longer available.
For Karazhan, there are unfortunately a couple of items that teleport/portal you directly there, though most do have longer cooldowns.
Atiesh, Greatstaff of Guardian can create a portal directly to Karazhan on a 1 minute CD, although let’s face it, since it’s been unavailable for such a long time, many will not have it.
Other routes to Karazhan include the Violet Seal of the Grand Magus from the Return to Karazhan questline (4 hour CD), and the Honor Hold Mage below the portal room that teleports you to The Dark Portal in Blasted Lands.
As for Dalaran, the Dalaran Hearthstone is only a 20 minute CD, and anyone can get it by simply starting the Legion campaign.
How did I forget about dala hearthstone lol We were already only being used for niche uses anyway. Only time I felt useful was when the airship to undercity was down and I was doing my part for the community and porting handfuls of players there.
I say remove all portals from capital city and etc.
Let mages sell portal for gold.
