New Profession system too complex

I’m going to say I’m not a fan of these new Profession system
you have made the whole system too complex Ive always enjoyed the profession system in wow until this Expac are locked in their point system in the trees if you look at blacksmithing for example there tons of sub choices its too much !!!

Blizzard you have ruined a nice system by making it far too complex

Would be nice with some substantial guides to go along with the added complexity, but so far the guides have been very superficial.

Hense why I dont play FF14
they made the professon system too complex the idea is nice skill trees but not this many skill tress its killed the crafting system in wow

Too complex? Its literally just telling you to focus on specific types of gear/boni for the start. You can max everything over time etc etc

Its actually fun for once and not some mindless boring system. It still has stuff that needs to be worked on, like the crafting orders being a good idea in theory, but being implemented pretty poorly.
No offense, but if this is too complex for you, idk, maybe go play Minecraft. For once we need to use our brain A LIL BIT, thanks Blizzard! Just saying its too complex and thats why its bad is … Point out actual arguments. Just hating on it and not actually naming factual/precise problems in your opinion leads to nothing.

Thank you for your toxic reply because I hate the new system. Ive been playing wow since vanilla to me this new syatem has gone overboard with the amount if skill tress and sub skill trees in each of the professions and has killed something I enjoyed most about wow.

And Karunos if you feel the need to insult ppl for expressing a different opton then maybe the forums are not the place for you

Wow profession system was worst in industry. Never get into it. Now it became something cool and I have finally get into it. Don’t think it is too complex. As a person never used profession in wow it takes 1 hour to understand new system.

OP, the previous system was anything but nice. This new system has the potential to really make you feel like a crafter, gatherer in an RPG.

I’m not a fan either, it’s taken ( acceptably ) grindy professions and made them even more ( unacceptably ) grindy

This. I play this game to relax after stressfull day at work. I dont have the time or patience to figure out whats the best way to do this without making some wrong choice that sets me back weeks.

Make us able to respec our knowledge so I dont have to stress about using them wrong.

Im this close in realising that I shouldnt waste my life playing this game.

I kinda agree to some extent. I like that they added more depth to professions. The main issue is how little info you get in the actual game on how it works. It’s too overwhelming to get into without looking into external info outside of the game. The complete lack of tutorials in game for professions forces you to use wowhead, youtube etc to understand how stuff works, and I don’t think that’s good enough on Blizzard’s end.

The crafting order system for example. None of the NPCs that are standing around gives an actual proper explanation of what I am supposed to do. I tried to place an order and send the request to one of my alts, but when I go there I don’t see anything in any of the menus.

So overall I don’t think adding complexity is bad. I just wish Blizzard would have put more effort into in-game tutorials when they make it this complex.

You have not played star wars galaxies. So you have no clue what you’re talking about how something like this actually feels. This system does not bring anything into an roleplaying game. You’re reffering to just roleplay so go ahead and read into star wars galaxies skill trees how you actually ya know, arnt allways a ‘champion’ or ’ hero’.

I think they managed to make it more interesting without making it tedious like FF14 crafting. I dont like that they made it worthless for everyone except the 1% who got in day 1 and essentially monopolized the entire crafting market. Private orders being a thing actively makes it so the people profiting do so at the expense of everyone else

FFXIV was more interesting because you didnt just ‘craft’.

You had a whole procedure to do. This is just crafting. On FFXIV you could also make stuff like 10 below highet raid, at least in shadowbringers and actually sell it. You couldnt do that here.

Its just an overly convoluted system that I hated, it was also the only way to make money in the game so screw everyone who didnt enjoy it.

FFXIV’s design is fundemntally different. On that one character you may play there (There’s no need for alts) you can swap on the flly between for example blacksmith or gatherer), and you can learn ALL of them at the same time. All of them have full armor sets with set gear and stuf so is ffar more engaging then this system in wow. It also has some very fun profession events. In wow? You just have a one month cooking event or what not

What all this takes? If you keep up to par on expansion, no matter when you join an expansion, you’re still not gonna be behind. This system wow has (And we know wow will expand on this every tier based on blizzard’s method of dropping content nowadays) you as a player whom would normally be able to get stuf done in FFXIV, you cannot get anything done. It takes to much efford on wow. Materials are weirdly distributed. This ‘x touched’ mineral or herb, is not truely random I dont think. It has a higher chance to spawn at tryhold for Titan touched for instance, while still being rng. FFXIV does not have tht rng so its naturally easyer to get into it too. They also do crafting gand gearing for crafting alot better. Its not just a tool and two ‘professions’. You gget a full on armor set for them.

Its not ‘convoluted’. Its actually really simple compared to wow’s specialisation system.

I can litterally start FFXIV now, and soon later, if I do the money method, I would be able to start as a gatherer first, then a crafter prof, and I would be able to sustain is. The prices for gear also are not inflated, due to the fact you esentially can switch servers for free and get stuff on another server if you do need it if your server is overpriced andf what not. Its a much appreciated feature tbh. Controls some economy too, which is much needed.

In WOW, this could become a problem if not enoough people want to craft because this system is far less enjoyable then something you can do in FFXIV because standing there, spamming in tradechat, is doing nothing really. Alll because BOCO (BOP) arnt sellable on the AH and we require all sorts of timegated materials and what not.

Now, If you dont llike the minigames attached to crafting in FFXIV, that can be a thing, but in my books, its no difference then selecting craft with a chance to proc q5 or whatever. Its just a more enjoyable experience because you’re actually working on a profession.
