From the Maintenance pages, we got 6 Connections for EU this week:

  1. ENGLISH: Auchindoun/Dunemaul/Jaedenar Connecting to Sylvanas
  2. GERMAN: Echsenkessel/Mal’Ganis/Taerar Connecting to Blackhand (lets hope it happens this was first announced July 22)
  3. FRENCH: Confrérie du Thorium/Les Clairevoyents/Les Sentinelles Connecting to Kirin Tor
  4. FRENCH: Eitrigg/Krasus Connecting to Drek’Thar/Uldaman
  5. SPANISH: C’thun Connecting to Dun Modr
  6. RUSSIAN: Borean Tundra connecting to Grom/Thermaplugg/Blackscar

That is very interesting, don’t understand why they didn’t announce them.

It was in my prediction that sylvanas might have been merged with some small realms, and it’s still big enough that 1 connection should do.

Blackhand indeed, let’s hope it happens cause they tried so many times, and this is also a big connection.

French RP and normal connection is a standard one, small with small, all of them ally dominant.

C’thun with dun modr is unexpected, dun modr is ally and much bigger than c’thun, which is horde, I’d have expected they’d have connected it with tyrande or exodar, which are also ally but smaller.

Borean tundra is interesting, basically after failing borean + blackscar, they did blackscar with a small realm and now finally adding borean.

It will likely happen tomorrow when the Community team is back in the office, it isn’t the first time that they posted them before making an official post about it. They usually post their maintenance plans on Sundays.

Can u confirm that this will be our server connection?

Once its on the maintenance list, its basically guaranteed unless it happens like It did with US-Hyjal/Proudmoore where blizzard pulled back, I wouldn’t expect that to happen because C’thun is a pretty low population server and for sure a candidate to be connected. That doesn’t mean the server cant see further connections in the future or that it will 100% happen this week as Blizzard has failed connections before but this usually just results in them trying again the next week.

I would expect blizzard to make a post about it tomorrow
They usually release their weekly maintenance plans on Sundays, and make official posts about it on Monday with the connections happening the night of Thursday/Friday
It’s been like that the last few weeks.

Yes, I think janek is right, usually they don’t go back with their decisions, even blackhand-mal’ganis for example, a german connection that failed 3-4 times, they keep trying it till they succeed.

BLIZZARD? ARE YOU CRAZY?
you’re making people to leave C’thun after that connection
and the realm will be 0

WHY ARE YOU MIXING A 99% ALLIANCE POPULATION REALM that has over 6k people with a only horde realm with less than 500 people? youre making people to leave C’thun at this point haha

I actually predicted they would connect smaller realms with Sylvanas but I’m surprised it’s this early on. I thought they would connect a number of smaller realms like Darksorrow/Frostwhisper+ a few others and then connect them to a high pop server.

Though I also think Outland, Magtheridon, Stormscale, Ragnaros and even Ravencrest are going to have low/medium pop realms connected to them.

Blizzard is laughing while reading the spanish forum complains.

Extremely great planning on Blizzards part to arrange these server merges on thursday and not for example on tuesday. The guild i’m in raids on wednesday/sunday and we essentially wasted a reset achieving nothing since the merge broke our raid lockout and we can’t start a new one since everyone is saved to the lockout we can no longer use thanks to Blizzard spaghetti code. Feels great to spend 6 months progressing through mythic Nyalotha and then get screwed over by incompetent diversity hire devs at the end of the expansion. 2 less mounts for us.

they are laughing at us
they are wanting the only 15 guilds of Cthun to move to another realm.

If you realize, with that connection, the population will still be the same, no change, dead. the Guilds will not have more people, only the realm people, so the same people keep in the realm, so, I want to know the reason of that connection.

The AH will surely not be the same, DunModr would surely have a much stronger economy than C’Thun and that is the whole purpose of server connections, nor would this be the First Horde realm/Alliance realm connection, nor would this discount the possibility of another connection in the future (Im pretty sure they will reduce Spanish servers down to 2 maybe 3). Other than Sanguino which is the most populated, the other 3 Spanish servers are all Alliance dominated.

realm change:
Horde C’Thun - Dun Modr
3000 → 3060

Aliance Dun Modr
60000 → 60100

nothing
really changes for C’thun when is the realm who needs the connection, not dun modr

The AH is shared among the entire server (across both factions), so C’thun would have access to the Auction house of Dun Modr.

Cthun has 29k Characters and is 93% Horde dominated
DunModr has 99k Characters and is 94% alliance.

Together the realm would have approx a 74/26% Faction split in favour of alliance.

nice 3k VS 80k realms

but our problem is not only the AH
but the guilds

All I can say is wait until the connection programme has run it’s course
I would be surprised if this is the last time that this server gets connected, especially since there are so few options when it comes to Spanish servers.

well, theres a macrorealm connection with Minahonda, which was the most common sense conection. and everyone in the spanish forums wants a macrorealm with all spanish realms (Except dun modr) because the population is not that much and it would be 50/50

I wish that come true, but we have a message in one of our threats posted 2 or 3 years ago that says

“Estamos monitorizando los servidores”

Excuse me if I’m skeptical.

if I had to guess Spanish realms would look something like:

Dun Modr + C’thun + Exodar as one server and Sanguino + Tyrande as the second server (both of those have roots as Rp servers as well)

Blizzard might surprise but as an arm chair observer thats where im putting my money :grinning:
