New Realm Connections are Underway

Given pre patch is coming up I’m guessing these merges are done or do we think they might continue to 2nd pre patch? I’m worried as my realm (Emerald Dream/Terenas) has just dropped into Low pop. Only 5 guilds managed CE and appears all others have given up already. Boralas is dead these days too which doesnt fill me with confidence.

Honestly think those of us who post here just do it so thread doens’t get forgotten, as Blizz, very cunningly (read : in an underhand way), expects it to become. Whatever. Issue with things like this, bad or missleading communication, is that when you really want to fix it it might be too late.

Have ye all a great Sunday.

Well we can live in hope that keeping it up the top of discussions will make them see people still feel their realms need connecting.

Have a great Sunday too

They (Blizzard) can’t honestly be happy with the way the realms are, currently. In theory they may have reason to believe that, come the expansion, whenever it arrives, the realms will gain a lot of activity (which usually happens) and that they stick around (which usually doesn’t). Or they might have other things on their mind, and are happy to leave the realms limping along until they get that temporary shot in the arm of returning players. But that’s more a placebo than anything else - its the people who remain in the latter half of an expansion they should be catering to, and leaving realms virtually inactive, for extended periods of time, is not healthy for those realms or the people on them. Some will stick it out, some will move to other realms, and others will just lose interest and stop playing.

I’m playing on the smallest ENG realm on EU (Nordrassil/BDF) with two close friends for about 12 years now. At his point we have only one 12/12 guild on the realm. Earlier this year our guild moved after being on Nordrassil for 16 (!) years. They felt it was time to go, since the realm felt empty and lifeless. Now I’ve been hoping for a realm merge for months and months, but the future looks dim.
We love to play our alts, but don’t wanna spend that much money to move 4-6 alts per person. Remember we already pay a monthly fee for a lifeless realm for years now.
We really, really hope to see a Nordrassil/BDF merge any time soon!

Agree
Sure the realm will be a bit more alive some SL, but will die off AGAIN slowly without a merge.

haha lucky you. We don’t even have one 12/12M guild :stuck_out_tongue:

Our highest guild attained 6/12. You have a few who have gotten further than that.

I’m not sure this will get a reply but I thought it was worth a shot.

Doubt it, maybe the MVP helps… but they have been ignoring my daily tweets for a week now.

I doubt that has any bearing

Ananda has also tried tweeting at WarcraftDevs

That’s a shame

Thanks for trying though. Maybe if some more people reach out it will change their mind on not communicating.

A lot of realms are like that. My realm only has 1 and the next after that is 6/12.

It’s really frustrating tbh. Time and time they and even Ion come out to say they are going to do better in communication. And yet we get this silent treatment again.

Now this isn’t just some small issue, they made a big deal out of these connections and kept updating us every week. So to just unpin it and not give any message is really bad. Anything is better than nothing: complete, postponement… while still frustrating it doesn’t give you a feeling of not being valued at all like this silence does.

Blizzard was never perfect but damn I really miss the old Blizz, that treated their values as things to do and not just to flaunt about.

by the looks of things any realm below 4k population is considered low, so we have 25 low pop & 21 medium or higher in the english EU zone…

awesome job fixing the realms, you basically did nothing & we are still in the same boat we were 3 months ago, there are still realms with 10X the players of the low pop while over half the realms are just dead & barely function

if you don’t play on one of the top 10 realms you are at a MASSIVE disadvantage

I got no response so I presume there is no official stance on the matter atm :woman_shrugging:

I wish they would just tell us SOMETHING.

Lightbringer is so quiet these days. :frowning:

Incorrect. We’re worse off as it seems like they’ve given up.

Agree with your comment, I just feel like people keep underestimating the realms marked as “new players”, you too, you said they only have 0-1 guilds.

Now the situation for new player realms is as follows:

Doomhammer (english): 5 guilds 12\12 M
Dun morogh (german): 2 guilds
Khaz modan (french): 1 guild
Exodar (spanish): 3 guilds
Pozzo dell’eternità (italian): 10 guilds! (this surprised me too!)
Russian new player: 1 guild

Based on your own description, some fit the low category, some fit the medium and some fit the high, since you said more than 1 page for the high but they actually don’t make it there, take stormscale which is by no means a small realm, it only has 15 guilds, and finally take kilrogg, a realm that is marked as high and that is part of a 5 way and one of the few english realms that have been connected again in the 2nd round, only 3 guilds.

Even worse, some realms completely lost their low pop advantage (BMAH), and now prices are exponentially higher cause of the connection, in bmah ofc, examples of this would be mal’ganis, ambossar, lordaeron, culte de la rive noire as examples where I personally play on, and surely people from auchindoun noticed this too.

And on top of that obviously there are still a lot of low pop realms, so it’s a half-made job, they didn’t really solve the underpopulation problem for a big part of the playerbase.
