New season when? We are all fully geared

Hi,

Has it always been this delay between seasons? Everyone is 638+ with full sockets at this point and it would be fitting with new season shortly after christmas?

It’s always funny to see threads with people complaining at Blizzard that its too hard to gear up and people who are finished gearing up so they want more content.

Anyway, generally a new season starts every couple months so it won’t be too long.

Season 2 is expected in late Winter, so probably sometime around the end of February.

You are not everybody. Some ppl also like to gear alts to get myth tints for several classes, so the longer the season, the better. There are other options to get yourself something to do than cutting off others from progressing at their pace.

Seasons have had different lengths over the years because the time it took Blizzard to develop a new major content patch would often vary quite a bit.

But in recent expansions Blizzard have locked the Seasons down to ~6 months, and they’re pretty good at sticking to that.

Is it too long? Too short? Depends who you ask. But it’s definitely not a one-size-fits-all.

February has been suspected so would be few months if so.

All that rushing…

That is super flex, lol.

Not sure.

I mean, if you’re a somewhat committed gamer, it really doesn’t take too long to hit the major milestones in a WoW Season.
And if you’re not a completionist or a collector or alt-a-holic, you can finish off a Season pretty quickly I’d say.

Sometimes you’ve just got to wait.

I’ve had to stop eating at restaurants IRL because their prices aren’t inflating fast enough and none of them are expensive enough for me.

Nah, its not even a flex if its pvp gear. Im full sockets and 639 aswell on two characters and could be on 6 if I wanted even tho I barely even play. If you play pvp you can just walk to a vendor and buy 639 ilvl worth items once you have played something for day or two to gain enough conquest for it. Sockets we buy with just honor too. Its the only thing I like related pvp currently that gearing has been made this easy.

I didnt know that! Thanks for that info
Not sure why a pvp’er wants a new season when he hits max ilvl since it probably helps in pvp. But i leave the topic for what it is since i do not pvp.

Well, tbh I dont know if his speaking in terms of pve or pvp but I know he used to play pvp as I know him from arena forums. But related pvp gear anyway it takes day or two to get 639 and full sockets one can have during week aswell as its just honor that we use to buy them. Pvp gearing has been very good since df, I like it :+1:

Usually people gear alts because there is no content left. I have like… 5? characters at 630+ and I only did it because the content basically ends at +12.
Heroic raids are not a challenge and is basically there to gear alts. Mythic raids are usually done 4/8 for vault and the ones who are dedicated to clear it, probably cleared it already. So no content for them too.

That might be true for people who barely play or skip like half a season but not for active players. Now what do you think, who is more important for a healthy game? People who barely play or actual active players?
You mentioned gearing alts. Sure, gear maybe 1 or 2 alts, fine. But keep going? For what? How many active players are truly gearing one alt after another when they know there is actually nothing in the end to use that gear on?
How are people gonna gear alts if the active players leave because they are bored due to lack of content? Delves?

That’s actually the issue. The difficulty squish ruined too much. There is not much to do.

Good for you i guess.

Personally im taking a break now. Got tired of the weekly rng slotmachine gear progressing.

Will return if i see some meaningfull changes in gear progressing.

I didn’ talk about gear, but about collecting the mogs - I don’t get why ppl are gearing their chars over 5/6 hc track anyway or do M+ higher than on 8.

Gear is worthless, it will be replaced by vet track next season; but mogs stay forever and there are up to 13 sets to collect. And yes, to play the current season has actually become more efficent to get them than waiting to solo old raids due to blizz screwing with scaling and legacy loot.

Outside of some PvP mogs (I believe?) are there any mogs you can’t get in the next seasons? Only the LFR ones, no?

Because one of the most important core elements of a MMORPG is go gain power and make your character as strong as possible.
We want to be strong and smash hard, not just look good and shiny.

If gear is worthless, what’s the point of tmogs? Afk in the city and look good? I am not too sure about that.

Wdym by efficient?
You can just download a picture of a set and look at it all day long, don’t even need to play the game for that. Now that would be efficient for a tmog collector

MMORPG - the secret is the RP part.
