The settings have had various changes over the years, they also removed a load of stuff at one point to make it more simple. This move to make it more user friendly is a bonus IMO.

It will take a few goes to get used to it ofc, like with any change.

At least there’s a search bar for quickly getting to settings.

Going to be some pain at the start whilst we re-find settings (similar to when Microsoft changes the location of menu-options like Group Data) but the Search function should make this less of a hassle.

To summarise suggestions from Wowhead comments (so far):

  1. Default Auto-loot to “on”
  2. Add spec-specific keybinds
  3. Allow more icon bar customisation (e.g. all 10, customise position) like Dominoes or Bartender
  4. Allow users to completely disable/de-install voice chat program (redundant for Discord/Guilded/Teamspeak etc users)
  5. Add FoV (Field of View?) options back in (e.g. camera distance). Perhaps an “advanced” settings tab?
  6. Update the Currencies/Reps/Character tab too

I’m very excited for bigger UI changes, it’s been long overdue. Retail needs to feel more modern. As someone who doesn’t use ElvUI or anything, just a few tweaks in Leatrix and a bunch of pvp addons, I’m really curious how it all pans out.

I miss the advanced settings, it’s annoying needing an addon or having to google all the console commands.

Exactly this! I don’t use any addon for UI and it’s hard to track CD’s sometimes so I have to run WA’s. Can’t wait for default UI improvements.

We’re going to have so much to explore in prepatch when everyone gets access to it all.

In our settings and the UI I mean.

Just as long as it’s not harder to see. So many modern icons are smaller with subtle colour schemes which I find harder to make out.
I use the Minimap a lot to find things so I hope they won’t get too close to style over substance.

Maybe I’ll need to find a UI add-on (never used any so far) with a Pre-DF UI layout if the new one is unreadable.

I tend to be careful about my expectations since BFA, but I think they’ll get this one thing right. I can’t see them going overboard. We’ll see :slightly_smiling_face:

I just want to move UI elements around. I don’t understand why we can’t move the mini map for example.

It’s good feedback they can take into account.

:crossed_fingers:
